In the isolated region of Wuhan City Hospital of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, a volunteer from Dalian, Liaoning Province, has been working for more than 20 days. People there call him “Dalian” because of his hometown’s name. However, his arrival on the front line of the fight against the epidemic is totally an accident.
On February 12, heading for Changsha, Dalian was forced to get off the high-speed train in Wuhan after he entered a wrong railway carriage by mistake. All alone in Wuhan, he decided to volunteer in the hospital to contribute to fighting the epidemic.
“I have never done so much housework in the past 20 years, " Dalian said. With the attitude of “since I am here, I may as well stay and make the best of it”, Dalian works hard every day, welcomed by staff and patients. His diligence and optimistic attitude is worth learning from.
To keep his family from worrying, Dalian even told them that he was in Changsha. During the particular period, many people can’t go back home and spend time with their family. I hope the epidemic could come to an end soon so that they can all return to their families.
