The competition adopts the mode of temporary lesson preparation and time-limited teaching. Contestants were required to choose the teaching topic randomly, prepare lessons within two hours, and complete the teaching presentation within ten minutes. The first contestant to enter the final was Sun Zihui, a sophomore normal major. With The Slope-intercept Equation of a Line as the topic of her presentation, she first gave a review of the other forms of the equation of a line, then showed the standard form of the slope-intercept equation and emphatically explained the derivation relationship between the various forms of the equation of a line, so as to prove the correctness and rationality of the slope-intercept equation. ‘The contestant did a good job in presence, interaction and content explanation,’ Gong commented. ‘However, it will be better if the contestant pay more attention to the teaching language and reduce the use of catch phrases and colloquialisms." In the end, Sun Zihui won the second prize with 90 points.

Ding Chu, a senior normal major from the School of Mathematics and Statistics, presented the topic of ‘Images and Properties of Logarithmic Functions’. She started with the definition of the logarithm function and drew out the graph of the logarithm function and its properties. Ye XinNian affirmed her way of introducing the nature of function, and pointed out that the contestant’s problems existed in analyzing the question. Ding won the third prize with a score of 84.27.

The first-prize winner was Xu Lian, a sophomore normal major. She made an in-depth analysis of the principle of interaction between two directions, using the teaching methods like knowledge review, teaching introduction, and main content explanation, interactive questioning, sample analysis and course summary. When explaining the teaching concept, she said, ‘In order to overcome the disadvantages of the teaching method and make the class student-oriented, I only proved a part of the principle of reciprocity and guided students to complete the whole proof process. I hope to provoke students' thinking with lively teaching style and cultivate students' academic character with rigorous teaching attitude.’

Many judges spoke highly of Xu Lian's presentation. ‘The contestant has solid teaching skills, precise language and rigorous thinking. Most importantly, the knowledge was engraved on her mind. I can feel her passion for teaching.’ said Zou.

This competition has a high requirement for the information literacy of normal university students, which highlights the characteristics of the new era education featuring the integration of knowledge education and information skills. The competition commended the outstanding normal majors and further strengthened the general awareness of normal majors to improve their comprehensive teaching ability.
