The Voice of CCNU On the morning of October 15th, career planning special activity called “Jingwei Career Group Development Camp” started smoothly in Classroom 403, Building 10, in which four non-normal classes were divided into two sessions and took part in the first career development group counseling activity. The guider and counselor of grade 2022 called Lu Wen guided students to pay attention to career planning from knowing the career and studying style, helping students to explore college learning methods.
Teacher Lu started with career development stage and task theory put forward by Shu Bo, and told students that the college is an important stage of career exploration and accumulation. Then, she introduced the target and arrangement of Jingwei career group development camp. She hoped that she could guide students of grade 2022 to explore the direction of career, solve learning problem and improve the ability of facing the future through four-year counseling, and record their own development footprints taking advantage of “Grow Footprints, Customize Dreams” handbook.
The first activity is “look for puzzles”. The students formed teams according to picked puzzles, and made self-introduction actively to the group, after which students became familiar with each other quickly.
After that, teacher Wu introduced Shu Bo’s view of career planning about breadth of life and living space in detail, and invited everyone to make a career rainbow chart with color pens to describe the present life and look forward to the future. The students participated and discussed actively, painted all kinds of roles in different stages of their life on the colorful rainbow chart, and shared their ideals and pursuits. Teacher Wu combined his experience to tell stories and use emotion in the process, and told students to fight for their ideals as well as avoid blind conformity.
As for the present, teacher Lu led students to observe their learning and life states with “Life Dashboard” and propose improvement goals and specific plans.
Then, teacher Lu answered students’ common questions about college course study, helped students to explore their own study styles and made careful analysis to every study style. She said that knowledge frame and structure in college study should be attached importance to. She also introduced the memory model and provided several skills of “elaborate processing” and absorbing of knowledge.
Time went by quickly for the activity, in which students learned themselves in the process of relaxing activity and free communication and discussed life ideals. It was reported that Jingwei Study and Development Center will carry out career team camp activities regularly and make consistent efforts to help students to decide personal development goals.
