On the afternoon of May 10th at 3 o'clock, "Boya Lecture Group" work deployment and promotion meeting for counselors at Normal University was held in Room 403 of the University Student Activity Center, in which Li Diao, Deputy Minister of the Party Committee's Student Work Department and Director of the Ideological and Political Affairs Department, and Li Xianling, Deputy Director of the Ideological and Political Affairs Department, participated, as well as all counselor members of the "Boya Lecture Group". The meeting was chaired by Li Xianling, Deputy Director of the Ideological and Political Affairs Department.
Li Xianling, Deputy Director of the Ideological and Political Affairs Department of the Party Committee, first introduced the composition and main tasks of the members of the propaganda group. She emphasized that the Student Work Department of the Party Committee attached great importance to the work of the counselor "Boya Lecture Group", and various training units have actively responded. Finally, "Boya Lecture Group" with 55 members was formed, including 2 deputy Party committee secretaries, 42 full-time counselors, 10 part-time counselors, and 1 Party affairs officer. The members will explain profound ideologies to students in simple language, and various forms such as thematic information sessions, education theme evening roll calls, special league activities and class meetings, around the theme of basic theory of Party, Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, The Spirit of the 20th National Congress of Party, the great achievements of the Party and the country, aimed at arming students with the latest theoretical achievements of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times, inspiring and call on them to strive for learning and devote themselves to serving the country by the great changes in the new era of the Party and the country, as well as the great achievements and historical experience of the founding of the Party in the past century. This year, each member will conduct no less than 20 lectures of various levels and types, covering no less than 1000 college students. In order to improve the quality of the lecture, the Party Committee's Student Work Department also commissioned relevant experts from the School of Marxism and the School of Political and International Studies to prepare lecture materials in advance for the members of the lecture group, and will provide full guidance for subsequent lecture activities.
At the meeting, Li Diao, Deputy Minister of the Student Work Department of the Party Committee and Director of the Ideological and Political Affairs Department, deployed and mobilized the work of "Boya Lecture Group" for counselors. He emphasized that as a member of the "Boya Lecture Group" as a counselor, it was not only a responsibility, but also a mission. He raised three hopes for the members of the lecture group: firstly, to strengthen in-depth learning and achieve deep understanding. They were hoped to adhere to comprehensive systematics, in-depth thinking, and joint practical learning, further learn the latest theoretical achievements of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times, especially Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, carefully read report of The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and seriously study the spirit to achieve deep understanding and mastery of knowledge, improve their political position, enhance their ideological awareness, strengthen their theoretical literacy and knowledge reserves, and make sufficient preparations for and strengthen their confidence in the follow-up preaching work. The second is to innovate the means of preaching, ensuring that it has been absorbed. Members of the propaganda group were hoped to innovate their ideas and methods, and carry out theoretical lectures on college students through various ways such as special reports, symposiums and exchanges, salon discussions, characteristic Party Day activities, class meetings, weekend evening education themed at ideology and politic, and online education. Teachers and students were also encouraged to actively create and disseminate excellent online cultural achievements that highlight the theme of the propaganda, such as online articles, animations, comics, and micro videos, and take multiple measures to comprehensively and deeply carry out propaganda education, making preaching and education more grounded, lively, popular, and immersive. The third is to promote work development and strive for excellence. Members of the preaching team were hoped to combine theoretical preaching with their personal strengths, students' development needs, the advantages of the college's professional disciplines, and the reform and innovation of ideological and political education for college students, in order to actively explore and strive to create a theoretical preaching brand with the characteristics of the college, and strengthen experience summary, achievement solidification, and promotion, striving to achieve excellence, namely, one person is worth one product, and so does one institute.
