The Voice of CCNU Youth shines through adversity, and life ascends through struggle. On the morning of September 24th, the 2023 opening ceremony and military training summary conference of CCNU were held at the Youming Stadium.
Deputy Dean Dai Ming from the PLA Air Force Early Warning Academy, Political Commissar He Yong of the First Brigade, and university leaders Xia Lixin, Hao Fanghua, Zha Daolin, Chen Houfeng, Ren Youzhou, and Peng Shuangjie attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee Chen Diming.
President Hao Fanghua extended a warm welcome to all 2023 freshmen on behalf of the entire university faculty and staff. In her speech titled "Cultivating Talent with the Spirit of an Educator," Hao Fanghua reviewed the 120-year development journey of CCNU in revitalizing teacher education and nurturing the pillars of the country. He closely linked the direction of the university's growth and development with the emphasis placed by General Secretary Xi Jinping on "vigorously promoting the spirit of educators" and urged the students to "always remember General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions and cultivate talents with the spirit of educators."
Hao Fanghua expressed heartfelt wishes for all the new students, hoping that they would firmly uphold the ideals of "having a great self and sincere dedication to the country," cultivate moral integrity that sets an example for the world, nurture the wisdom of educating people according to their abilities, maintain a diligent and innovative attitude, possess a compassionate heart for teaching and love for students, and embrace the pursuit of broad cultural ideals, all while serving the motherland. Student representative Zhou Yuxiang from the School of Law, a member of the Class of 2023, said, "For me, becoming part of Central China Normal University is the best arrangement. History favors those who fear no heights and depths, so let us continue the red legacy, promote the spirit of Central China Normal University, embrace the new era with youth, strive relentlessly, and become outstanding young people of the new era with ideals, courage, resilience, and a willingness to work hard."
International student representative Xiao Yufei from the International School of Cultural Exchange, a Master's student in the Class of 2023, said, "The moment I stepped into Guizishan, I strongly felt the beauty of the campus, the enthusiasm of the teachers, and the friendliness of the students. I look forward to studying and growing together with all new students in this temple of knowledge, carrying the stories of CCNU and the voice of China to the world."
Student representative Luo Kexin from the School of Physical Science and Technology, a member of the Class of 2020, said, "Seize the opportunity, cherish your youth, adapt to the change in status, develop strong abilities, carry a broad and generous love for humanity, become a young person of Central China Normal University with ideals, abilities, and a sense of responsibility. Teacher representative Professor Chen Bei from the School of Literature said, "Students, be steadfast in your ideals and strive for growth, face difficulties with determination to excel, embrace self-pursuit for excellence, have great aspirations, uphold moral integrity, shoulder responsibilities, and strive to become outstanding individuals in the era on Guizishan.
The 2023 undergraduate "Excellent Teacher Program" student representatives took the oath, pledging to become "excellent teachers who are well-rounded, practical, innovative, virtuous, loyal, cultured, and resolute in serving the people and the country."
The powerful military songs echoed, and the surging spirit filled the air as the summary report of military training for the Class of 2023 undergraduates began. Party Secretary Xia Lixin, accompanied by the head of the military training unit, inspected the formations of various colleges. The shouts of "Bring glory to the school" and "Serve the people" resounded in Youming Stadium as each formation presented itself with a radiant spirit, offering their tribute to CCNU's 120-year history.
