The Chinese Sub-forum of the Forum of Principals of Basic Education for the 120th Anniversary of Central China Normal University Was Held

On the afternoon of October 2nd, the Chinese sub-Forum of the Forum of Presidents of Basic Education for the 120th anniversary of Central China Normal University was held in the Academic Lecture Hall on the first floor of the College of Liberal Arts. Mr. Yang Dingcheng, Principal of Wuhan Middle School, Mr. Tan Hong, Deputy Party Secretary and vice principal of Shuangliu Middle School of Sichuan Province, and Mr. Wang Xinhua, principal of Guanggu Tangxunhu Campus of Huashi No. 1 High School, were invited as keynote speakers. Mr. Wang Hongyong, Vice dean of College of Arts, presided over the forum.

Yang Dingcheng, a special grade and senior teacher of high school Chinese in Hubei Province and principal of Wuhan Middle School, pointed out the deep problems in the professional development of Chinese teachers in primary and secondary schools with the title of "Four Models of professional Development of Chinese teachers" : The contradiction between the rapid growth of some excellent Chinese teachers in the region and the relatively backward development of the overall quality of Chinese teachers in the region, the contradiction between the relative lack of research-based Chinese teachers and the increasing number of Chinese teachers who process and copy the experience of others, and the contradiction between the role transformation of Chinese teachers and the improvement of professional quality of Chinese teachers. Then, he proposed that Chinese teaching should promote the construction of "integration of research and training", integrate scientific research, teaching and training institutions on the basis of scientific mechanisms, and provide a favorable external environment and internal driving force for the professional development of teachers. Finally, Yang Dingcheng put forward four models of Chinese teacher development: problem-focused model, project-driven model, project-led model and school-based research model. These four development modes pointed out the direction for the future development of Chinese teachers.



Tan Hong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, vice principal of Shuangliu Middle School in Sichuan Province, and winner of the "Most beautiful Teachers Team" in 2020, gave a lecture with the theme of "From Enlighteners to professionals - Talk about the professional growth of Chinese teachers". Citing the changes in the world, she pointed out that education is also undergoing great changes in the information age, and proposed that current teachers should enhance their professional level and make efforts at both ends of "teaching" and "education" to promote students "knowledge injection, personality cultivation and spiritual growth." Then, she talked about the experience of Chinese classroom and professional growth: we should pay attention to the student-oriented teaching transformation ability, pay attention to the use of classroom teaching language, optimize the use of Chinese textbooks, and carry out new teaching and learning to prevent shallow knowledge and fragmentation. Finally, she emphasized China's unique educator spirit and the ideal educational realm of "respecting life, paying attention to personality, advocating wisdom, and pursuing happiness in life", hoping that normal university students will become ideal educators and reach the ideal educational realm in the future.



Wang Xinhua, principal of Guanggu Tangxunhu Campus of Huanormal No. 1 High School and an excellent teacher of the Provincial Education Union, gave a lecture on the topic of "School is a place where children grow up". Wang Xinhua shared a lot of teaching experience with his own study and work experience as an example, stressing the importance of combining standardized management with humanized management and the necessity of shaping grade culture. Finally, Wang Xinhua put forward the concept of "source education", advocating to return to the essence and source of education, take the five education measures simultaneously to do a good job in basic education.



At the end of the "Ideas, Practices and Challenges of Excellent Chinese Teacher Training" interaction and discussion, the students, alumni and the three principals asked questions and exchanged ideas, which opened up their understanding and knowledge of Chinese teaching.



Wang Hongyong said the forum was of great enlightening significance. It not only pointed out the current problems and challenges facing basic Chinese education, but also pointed out the direction for the improvement of professional ability for the students and teachers present, and helped to fuel the fire of basic education on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the school.
