The Voice of CCNU On the afternoon of September 22th, the first lesson，“The Peer Group’s Counseling Experience ”, of the group course, “The Peer Group’s Psychological Help”, of the “Meet Partners with Healing” project of the 2023 Peer Friendship Plan of CCNU was successfully held in the “Psychodynamic Growth Space”of the One-stop Student Community Comprehensive Service Center (East 18 Branch Center) in order to further implement the concept of “education with temperature” and build a warm and friendly peer psychological helping team. The first lesson was led by Yu Xuan, a national second-level psychological consultant, a counselor from the School of Life Sciences, and the instructor of the “Psychodynamic Studio”, in which 15 students from 8 schools at the undergraduate and graduate level participated.
The members were seated in a circle after their entrance, and teacher Yu introduced the origin and objectives of the “Meet Partners with Healing” project of the 2023 Peer Friendship Plan. It is hoped that the members could feel the peer’s power, experience deeply in the activity, help each other and give play to the peer power. The next was the warm-up activity of “Strong Wind Blows”. The members participated so actively that the atmosphere became lively soon and everyone gradually found their comfortable state, immersed in an air of cheerful laughter. In the session of “Meet by Destiny”, they used facial expression, body movement and oral language to quickly introduce themselves and get to know each other. Subsequently, in the session of “Strengths Bombing”, they introduced their own strengths, wrote down the partner’s strengths on a sticky note and stuck the “strengths tag” to the partner in 5 minutes.
By this point, the members had rapidly become familiar with each. Then, in the session of “Group Building”, they began discussing the name and slogan of the group orderly, and drafting the group contract together. At last, in the session of “Circle Sharing”, everyone spoke freely and gained a lot. Some thought the atmosphere in the group was quite warm; some hoped to obtain greater ability to help others; and others expressed their expectations of next lesson.
It is reported that the “Meet Partners with Healing” project of the 2023 Peer Friendship Plan, a peer psychological helping team incubation project jointly created by the School of Life Sciences and the One-stop Student Service Community (East 18 Branch Center) under the guidance of the Office of Student Affairs and the Mental Health Center, is aimed at enhancing the peer’s psychological helping power to improve the college students’ mental health quality and foster a new generation with positive mental quality through the peer group’s mutual assistance and sharing.
