Visit Career Figures and Watch CCNU Students Explore the Future Development Path

On October 22, the second Career Interview Contest of Central China Normal University was held in Room L825, Science Experiment Building. With the theme of "understanding the real workplace to achieve better yourself", after the preliminary and semi-final selection, the final 10 contestants stood out and came to the final scene to tell the judges and the audience about their career interview experience and harvest. The competition was judged by Lan Yujuan, Deputy Director of the Career Guidance Teaching and Research Department of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Li Yan, a special-grade teacher of Wuchang Experimental Middle School in Hubei Province, and Gao Ming, assistant principal of the First Affiliated High School of Central China Normal University.


Contestant Wang Yuwen from the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, her career plan is to become a high school geography teacher, she presented a large number of tables and statistics in the defense slide, using the footsteps of rational science, data and arguments to measure the path to the teaching position. Before the interview, she consulted literature, understood the policies, drew up the three core qualities of becoming a teacher and compared them with her current situation. After field interviews, Wang Yuwen realized that becoming a qualified teacher is far from straightforward and simple as written in the book, so she improved her professional understanding, drew up five core qualities to become a teacher, further improved her requirements for herself, and made unremitting efforts to become a high school geography teacher.



In order to find out her career path, Wang Shuhui, a contestant from the College of Chemistry, selected five interviewees from the chemistry industry, academia and education circles. After understanding the differences between occupational requirements and personal realization in different occupations, Wang Shuhui made clear her career goal by referring to the personality test inventory and other tools: to become a high school chemistry teacher. During the interview, Wang Shuhui realized that as a teacher, she had high standards and strict requirements in terms of knowledge reserve and ethics. In order to achieve this goal, she took graduate school as the first step toward her goal.



Tan Ping, a contestant from the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, selected a middle-aged teacher and a young teacher as interview subjects to conduct interviews from two aspects of experience and lessons. In the defense session, defense judge Li Yan asked her about the countermeasures young teachers should take when they lack promotion opportunities due to academic focus and seniority. Tan Ping believes that "new teachers are like new students", young teachers should clarify their own positioning, do a good job of teaching reflection, and actively learn from excellent predecessors to realize their own teacher value. The attitude and practice were affirmed by Li Yan.



After the contestants' defense, Lan Yujuan spoke highly of the students' style of Central China Normal University, thinking that the interview topics and the performance of the ten contestants all reflected the characteristics of Central China Normal University's career guidance and career education results. First of all, Lan Yujuan affirmed the significance of career interviews as an important channel for students to understand career information. Secondly, Lan Yujuan believes that the career interview should be based on the basic understanding of occupation, as a means to verify career information and deepen career understanding. Then, Lan Yujuan put forward a specific optimization plan for the career interview, including the understanding of interviewees' career track, diversified exploration of interview channels, improvement of interview skills and dress and posture requirements.



The first prize was Wang Yuwen, the second prize was Wang Shuhui and Yang Qianyu, the third prize was Zhang Shuhan, Liu Wenling and Tan Ping, and the outstanding prize was Fang Yu, Yang Jinghan, Tian Yulin and Liu Xiaoyu. At this point, the career interview competition came to a successful end, and the ten contestants' career interview report defense won bursts of applause from the audience and the affirmation of the participants.
