The event was organized by the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee and hosted by the "Seeking Truth" Counselor Growth and Development Studio and the School of Marxism. Ma Ying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physics and Technology at Central China Normal University, shared her experience on "Creating Advanced University Class Collectives Based on Goal Management." Counselors from various colleges, both full-time and part-time, participated in the salon event.
Ma Ying, by examining the data of the past five graduating classes from the School of Physics, discovered a strong correlation between the effectiveness of class construction and the growth trends of individual students. She addressed four key aspects: "How does class construction influence personal growth?", "What is class goal management?", "How can class goal management be achieved?", and "Several issues to consider when creating an outstanding class collective." She suggested that common goals should be clearly set within the class collective and that class-specific goals should be established in conjunction with talent quality standards. She also recommended breaking down goals by academic year under the framework of training objectives to form a collective goal list and an individual goal list. Additionally, she suggested introducing moderate competition for scientific motivation to encourage active student participation, thereby fostering a positive class collective culture. Ma Ying emphasized that creating an excellent class collective is both a science and an art. She called on counselors to take class collective construction work seriously, not only to learn more, think frequently, research often, and leverage resources wisely but also to be cautious and thoughtful, to adhere to the original intention of educating people, and to bravely shoulder the responsibilities of the times.
