A journey of one thousand miles can never be made without the accumulation of every single step; An ocean can never be vast without the contribution of every single stream and brook. In order to strengthen the exchange and cooperation between Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students, improve the awareness of career planning of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students, and effectively break through the information barrier of further study and employment, on the afternoon of November 8, the Career Planning Experience Sharing Meeting for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Students of the School of History and Culture was held in the one-stop service community of Guojiao Building Four. The experience sharing session was hosted by Chen Qizhen, a graduate of 2022 of the School of History and Culture, and Huang Shaoting, a graduate of 2024 of the School of History and Culture, as the speaker. All Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students of the School of History and Culture participated in the sharing meeting.

At the beginning of the activity, Chen Qizhen shared her experience in preparing for the graduate student exam for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese. Based on the actual development of the personal undergraduate and postgraduate stage, she briefly explained the student affairs, practical experience and scientific research experience, encouraging the students to set personal goals, have the courage to work hard and cultivate excellent strength.
Chen Qizhen sorted out the whole process of postgraduate exam preparation according to the clue of time, focused on the registration confirmation, admission ticket printing, offline re-examination location confirmation and other links, and explained in detail the stage from re-examination to admission, and analyzed the differences in professional examination conditions of different schools. Chen Qizhen stressed that no matter how the examination situation changes, the first place is always personal hard power. "Know yourself and know the enemy, and you can fight a hundred battles with no danger of defeat.". Her sharing was like a tonic, enhancing the students' confidence in preparing for the exam and going forward.
In terms of review and preparation for the second interview, Chen Qizhen pointed out that the intention direction and the intention mentor should be determined in advance before the second interview. When preparing for the exam, you need to focus on the academic frontier of the application direction and the intended tutor's work, and diligently practice English self-introduction. In the re-examination, you should prepare documents and commitments as required, wait patiently during the examination, do not record or video, and do not publicly discuss the content of the re-examination before the end of the publicity period. For the graduation thesis writing at the same time, Chen Qizhen's advice to the students was to learn to balance time and adjust flexibly in the face of realistic conditions. "Keep a calm mind and dare to express yourself", Chen Qizhen hoped that every student who carefully prepares for the exam can finally gain something.
After the end of the first stage of sharing, the students of each grade respectively raised doubts about professional exploration, postgraduate school selection, early preparation, etc. Huang Shaoting answered the questions of the students one-on-one. She encouraged the students to strengthen communication with teachers, seniors and peers, and the students also said that they would set goals and continue to work hard while absorbing excellent experiences.
After the Q&A session, the sharing meeting moved on to the employment sharing stage for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese. Chen Qizhen used the 2020 document "Administrative Measures for the Open Recruitment of Hong Kong and Macao Residents by Public Institutions in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Mainland) (Trial)" as an example to explain in detail the basic job search paths, specific content, and material preparation for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students, and initially built a path to the workplace for students who are interested in finding a job in the form of an employment list.
"One's aspirations must be set far and wide; how can one expect to achieve anything of significance in this world without such vision?" The career planning experience sharing meeting will serve as a vital platform to harness the collective power of education, ignite the spark of enlightenment, and illuminate the path to a brighter future.
