I always prefer to music variety. Among inland programs, some of them are enchanting, such as I Am a Singer, Super Vocal, Our Songs and so on. However, I’m going to recommend Super Band, which, I think, belongs to the best music variety shows in the past few years. Super Band is a Korean variety, for finding hidden musicians and ultimately composing world-wide bands. Comparing with other programs, Super Band possesses several bright spots.

Super Band refuses to place limited scope, such as typical instruments for rock bands—guitar, bass, piano keyboard, drum and so on. Instead, harmonica, accordion, classic guitar, cello, violin and other unusual instruments are chosen. The ambition to break conventions is absolutely clear and the spirit to face challenge matches its goal—global bands. Five judges own tough strong professional ability. The Nell’s singer Jin Zhongwan, the DJ of Linkin Park, Joseph Hahn, and Li Xiuxian from Akdong Musician, all have extensive band experience. Not alone Yin Shang and Yin Zhongxin are the senior musicians in Korean. They prefer to appraise players’ live performance and band matchup, instead of digging out bad growing stories to prolong time and create moving atmosphere. And they don’t deliberately scold players to steal the spotlight, on the contrary, they put themselves’ feet into other’s shoes so as to honestly encourage players. With the example of these judges, on this show form the solid friendships like soulmates, rather than life-and-death competition.

五位制作人的专业能力都很强，韩国Nell乐队主唱金钟万、林肯公园的DJ乔瑟夫，乐童音乐家的李秀贤,都有着丰富的乐队经历；尹尚、尹钟信更是韩国音乐界的元老级人物。制作人的评价侧重于选手的现场表现、乐队融合度，而不是刻意挖掘辛酸成长故事，拖沓剧情、制造煽情效果；制作人也没有为了哗众取宠、制造噱头，故意责骂甚至羞辱选手，他们往往能够将心比心，真诚地鼓励选手。在制作人的带领下，选手之间的氛围不是你死我活的竞争，而是互相引为知己的兄弟情义。

Contrast to other variety shows, players join the show with innocent purposes: some are searching for like-minded people to resist loneliness in music, some aim to break the prejudice for classical music, while some of them determine to play all the percussion instruments in the world and share them with audience, some of them manage to broaden their music fields or purely enjoy music… because of this, they admire and praise each other rather than compare or envy. Most players have great music accomplishment—on average, they can play at least two instruments, and even skillfully. What’s more, they dare to break out of comfort zones and widen their music field: in the process of recombining bands, they give up their strengths and learn other strange instruments, so as to establish the most harmonious band. For example, guitar player Zhao Hanjie and violinist Benji, who both are willing to turn to bass players for better performances, and singer Hong Isaac chooses to give up his pursuing in naturalism and initiate his “urbanization” with rock bands. It is because of their breakthrough that many ear-catching performances appear.
选手参赛目的单纯且音乐素养高
不同于其他综艺节目，《超级乐队》的选手参赛目的都很单纯：有的希望能找到志同道合的音乐伙伴，不再孤独；有的希望打破大众对古典乐器的成见；有的想要演奏世界上所有的打击乐器，分享给观众；有的希望扩展自己的音乐领域；有的只是单纯热爱音乐……正因为如此，他们互相之间没有比较、嫉妒，更多的是欣赏、赞扬。选手们的音乐素养很高，平均每人都能演奏两种以上的乐器，并且达到了炉火纯青地步；另外，他们不拘泥于自己的音乐，在一次次的乐队重组过程中，藏住自己的锋芒、接触其他乐器，以便能打造和谐的乐队，例如：吉他手赵翰洁、小提琴手Benji，都愿意为乐队需要，暂时成为贝斯手；主唱Hong Isaac暂时放弃自己音乐上对自然主义的一贯追求，和摇滚乐队一起开始了“城市化”的尝试。正是有了这些人的不断突破，才有了一次次夺人耳目的乐队表演。
