Students In Foreign Language Department Showed Contemporary Normal Dream Through Chalk Writing And Design

At noon on September 17th, Preliminary Round of the Chalk Writing Design Competition belonging to the Foreign Language Department was held in the Classroom3218 successfully. Sun Xiaotong , the member in Writing Skill Steering Group of CCNU, Deng Ruoting, the president of South Lake Book Association, and Hou Wenjie, one of the key members of the Book Association attended the activity. The competition was organized by the Education Department of CCNU, Office of student affairs, Office of academic affairs, and Communist Youth League Committee in CCNU, which was also undertaken by the Future Educator.

 

This competition is intended to enhance normal students’ ability of chalk writing and design in our faculty, stimulate normal students to promote their teaching techniques , then lay a solid foundation of future profession. At last, with judges’ marking and discussing, Huang Jinjing stood out and won the first prize. Ge Changqing, as well as Zhao Hongyan , Qin Yuan and Chang Hanmei won the second and third prize respectively.

 

At the beginning of the competition, Li Mengmeng, the undersecretary of livelihood section, gave the prologue and illustrated the regulation:23 competitors were expected to finish their works in 7 minutes and three judges checked participants’ rate of progress in sequence, then gave a proper score to each competitor.  During the tense 7 minutes, all of the participants showed their own ingenuity in chalk writing and designing. Specifically, Zhao Hongyan, the highlight, utilized those color to move gradually towards making the key and difficult points prominent.And her creative design was spoken highly of.

 

When waiting for the result of the match, judges commented on competitors’ fonts, technique and the speed of writing.Firstly, they affirmed those participants’ good chalk writing culture, then they elaborated the significance of the chalk writing. Deng Ruoting demonstrated that the calligraphy of chalk writing was not the most crucial thing whatever Chinese or English, and as a teacher, the primary criterion was making the chalk writing please to the eye after being correct and clear, such as the same font size and proper line spacing without any skew.

 

After the competition, competitors exchanged ideas with others positively and shared their practical experience about chalk writing with each other. Huang Jinjing, the first-prize winner, said that organizing the Chalk Writing and Design Competition was meaningful. Regarded as a normal student, she also expressed that the chalk writing practicing process let her understand the difficulty of being a eligible and superb teacher ,as well as the obligation and diligence bhind such a vocation. Moreover, judges’ professional comments made her attain a lot and gave her a specific direction to boost her level of chalk writing.
