Warmhearted Guidance In Wuhan Station, Full Warmth On National Day

Due to the large passenger volume in Wuhan Station during the National Day holidays, Young Volunteers Association of chemistry institute organized volunteer service activities there from October first to fourth, aiming to provide information for passengers and help people in need to do some things. The event was led by the ministers of the Young Volunteers Association of chemistry institute, with more than fifty volunteers’ participation.

They made adequate preparations for the volunteer service at Wuhan Railway Station. On the evening of September 28, Shi lujia, minister of YVA’S practice department, served as the keynote speaker to cultivate the volunteers of Wuhan Station. Before the training, Shi uploaded the layout of Wuhan Station and problem collection in their QQ group, acquainting the volunteers with structure of Wuhan Station so that they can get well-prepared for the activity. After her explanation, she gave out some test papers on common problems in Wuhan Station to examine the effectiveness of the volunteer training as well as improve their emphasis on this event, consolidating key issues. It’s said that there was a special volunteer called ‘Lei Feng Robot’, who can have a voice conversation with passengers and provide navigation. On the morning of September 30, ministers of propaganda, You qian and Liu xingyu, proceeded to learn how to use intelligent robots in Wuhan Station with six assistants of YVA.

During the activity, volunteers assembled at the north gate at 7:50 every morning, taking the subway to Wuhan Station together. After arrival, two or three volunteers as a group went to the east, south, west, north exit of the railway station and the import and export of subway station respectively, providing services for the passengers. Volunteers returned to their own posts after a short lunch break at noon. Having been standing for hours continuously, they still helped to-and-fro travelers with enthusiasm and patience, and their busy figures were hidden in the crowds.  

Every National holiday is people’s travelling peak time. The entrance and exit of subway, ticket lobby, the east square and the north entrance and exit of Wuhan Station shared more people flow and higher inquiry frequency. Trained volunteers were very familiar with these sites and ardent to answer questions from travelers. When meeting with unsure problems occasionally, they would introduce travelers to ask staffs or policemen on duty in Wuhan Station in order to guarantee the accuracy. Additionally, some volunteers took the initiative to ask people with worried look that if they need some help.

After the activity was over, ‘Thanks for every dedicated volunteer. Owing to your kind help, travelers feel warmer. Looking forward to our meet next vacation. ’said Tanghan, a student from grade 2016, chemistry institute.
