(Correspondents: Chen Xinyu, Guo Zhiyi) On the morning of January 1st, School of Information Management held the 2018 Exchange Meeting of Instructors and Head Teachers in room 918 of building 9, with the aim of following the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and advice of CCNU on improving ideological and political work in the new situation，strengthening the construction of the team of head teachers and instructors and improving quality and ability of students. The meeting was presided over by Secretary of the League Committee Jiang Keming and attended by Party Committee Secretary Wang Jiping, Dean Li Yuhai, Assistant Dean Lu Xinyuan and all head teachers and instructors.
At the beginning, Dean Li Yuhai made a speech, gave full affirmation to the work of head teachers and instructors and expressed gratitude to them for their contribution. He stressed, attaching importance to education is the fundamental road of the development of our country. Besides, since service for students is the highlight of education work, he expected instructors and head teachers could contribute their strength and sum up experience by exchanging with others.
Subsequently, instructors made reports on the service for students this year. Instructor Li Jing summarized her work from four aspects, which were promoting ideological and political education, paying more attention to the growth of special groups and attaching importance to academic work. Instructor Ye Kongsen summed up his work with “four ones”, which were bearing one idea in mind, highlighting one point, cultivating one cadre and opening one road. Instructor Jiang Keming summarized the work of Youth League Committee of the school from thematic education, publicity work, entrepreneurship, practice, physical education and daily affairs. Instructor Xiao Lixia summarized her work from becoming students’ friends and life teacher, being a Marxist of the new era and the contact person of different departments. Instructor Mu Fan made a self-summary in the end.
After that, head teachers reported their work and shared their work experience. Among them, head teachers of class 2018 Zhang Jun, Zhou Zhenglong and Wu Guangmei mentioned, freshmen had a vague understanding of their majors and were confused about their future development, so it was important to cultivate their recognition of their majors and help them set ambitious goals. Head teachers of class 2017 Ye Guaghui, Luo Bo and Cheng Xiufeng mentioned, sophomores had had clear goals about their future, so there were more problems about learning knowledge and changing majors. Head teachers of class 2016 Wang Zhongyi, Chi Maomao and Hu Qian said, on the one hand, head teachers should guide students to choose major; on the other hand, head teachers should provide advice and help students make adequate preparations. Head teachers of class 2014 and 2015 Lu Xinyuan, Zhang Ziran, Zhai Shanshan and Liu Gang, mainly focused on the development of graduates and the importance of timely offering students supervision and guidance.
In the end, Secretary Wang Jiping commented on the work of head teachers and instructors and expressed his expectations. Secretary Wang said, the results of their work were worthy of recognition, their practice and experience were worth learning and it was important to form the style of School of Information Management. General Secretary Xi Jinping once put forward, “ideological and political work are basically the work about being a person”. Therefore, Secretary Wang emphasized, a teacher should not only impart knowledge to students, but also cultivate students with his actions. “The primary tasks of service for students are developing practical spirit, lighting the ideal lamp for students and cultivating students of all-round development.”
