On the evening of March 31st, the ideological and political subject theme course of Marxist College was held in 403 Conference Room of the College Students' Activity Center. Teacher Ding Xi was invited as a guest in the late-rolled class of the subject education. She shared the important speech spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Symposium of the teachers of Ideological and Political Theory course for the undergraduates of grade 2017 and 2018, and talked freely with the students of Marxist Academy about the charm of the ideological and political course.
Professor Ding Xi has been teaching and researching ideological and political theory for a long time. Her introduction to the basic principles of Marxism is praised as "the most popular ideological and political classroom on Gui Zi Mountain", and has won honors such as "young teaching experts" in Hubei Province and "national ideological and political theory teaching model" in 2017 by the Ministry of Education. On March 18th, 2019, teacher Ding Xi, as a representative of outstanding teachers in our school, participated in the symposium of teachers in the ideological and political theory course and received General Secretary Xi Jinping's cordial handshake in the Great Hall of the People.
In the class of Ideological and political theme education, teacher Ding Xi narrated the unique charm of the ideological and political course and the responsibility of the teachers of this course from two aspects: the spirit of the symposium of teachers of Ideological and political theory course and her own work perception. Teacher Ding Xi said that ideological and political theory lessons should first contain thoughs, conquer students with the real charm of Marxism, at the same time, ideological and political theory lessons should try to make the political position clear, guide students to carry forward the "Chinese Dream" and strengthen the four self-confidence principles. When talking about the key role of Ideological and political teachers, teacher Ding Xi emphasized that "to fasten the first button of students' life, the teachers of Ideological and political theory course are the key." She refuted some misunderstandings about the teachers of Ideological and political courses at present, believing that teachers of Ideological and political courses should withstand the "torture" of students and constantly strengthen learning and improve teaching skills.
Finally, teacher Ding Xi shared her understanding of "educational feelings". Through introducing the deeds of three great men, Marx, Mao Zedong and Yun Daiying, she profoundly expounded the connotation of national feelings. From the human feelings of General Secretary Xi's "Chinese Program" to the educational feelings of ideological and political teachers, teacher Ding Xi expressed her ardent expectations for students and encouraged them to strive to achieve the unity of "Four Habits" and "Six Essentials" of good ideological and political teachers proposed by General Secretary Xi.
In the interactive part, Hu Fenglan, a 2018 undergraduate majoring in Ideological and political education, proposed "how to be a good teacher of Ideological and political courses". Teacher Ding Xi mentioned the idea of "moral education is the first". We should carry out ideological and political education rightly and vigorously. We should not only have the momentum of "surging waves beating the shore", but also achieve the function of "moistening things silently".
After class, the students said that it was impressive that Teacher Ding Xi shared vivid images and progressed step by step. Yu Zhao, a 2017 undergraduate majoring in Ideological and political education, said: "Teacher Ding's sharing vividly expounded the spirit of the symposium of teachers in Ideological and political theory course in schools, and was full of her long-term experience in the front-line teaching of ideological and political course. It achieved the integration of truth and emotion, which made us feel the unique charm of ideological and political education course."
