Before the competition, Wang Jia delivered a speech for the competition. He stressed that for teacher trainees, the competition was not only about winning an award, but also about gaining experience for future teaching work. "Professional knowledge is our soul and teaching skills are our flesh," Wang Jia visualized the relationship between professional knowledge and teaching skills, and expressed his expectations and hopes for the participants: "During the competition, while we show our teaching skills to everyone, we also need to draw on the audience's advice, improve ourselves through reflection, and make progress by summarizing." In the end, Wang Jia expressed his best wishes to the contestants, hoping that each of them would enjoy the process of the competition and wishing the competition a great success.

The competition was divided into two sessions: mock lectures and the presentation of teaching design ideas. The contestants conducted mock lectures and elaborated on their teaching ideas based on the teaching materials they had created and the teaching plans they had designed. Every contestant taught in a positive spirit and used a variety of teaching methods such as writing, audio and video, and multimedia to demonstrate their teaching. The rich teaching content and detailed knowledge explanation not only reflected the professionalism of the competition, but also showed the excellent professionalism and comprehensive quality of the students from the College of Foreign Languages. Among them, Xu Qing'er from the English Department of the College of Foreign Languages in Grade 2019 introduced the knowledge points with examples, aiming at arousing students' interest in learning and also making it easier for them to understand the learning contents. Deng Qinzhu from the English Department of the College of Foreign Languages in Grade 2019 divided the course into three levels to explain the course, which was vivid and interesting.
