The Voice of CCNU On October 31th, activity named “Bai Tuan Da Zhan”in 2021 of Central China Normal University was held in the Youming stadium as scheduled. After preparation of many days, roughly one hundred associations of our school planned elaborately a series of wonderful programs, ingenious gifts and enthusiastic soliciting of members drew a crowd of students. Hundred characteristic associations embodied varied talents of students of CCNU, as well as reflected charming elegant appearance belonging to CCNU alone.
Intellectual associations of “Bai Tuan Da Zhan”gathered on the grassland of Youming stadium. Golden autumn in October, “battlefield”on the grassland, place that eye can reach, was full of mark of knowledge. Looking at the corner of runway, one desk, two benches, where the checkerboard was put, was a different world despite small space. In Boya chess club, veteran was playing chess with the freshman wanting to compete. The process was silent but seemed to smoke everywhere. Chess players dropped chess pieces by easy stage, however, viewers had heated debates and discussions. Around the checkerboard were lively environment and continued voices of admiration, such as “exciting and interesting”,”the seniors with abundant experience making us learn a lot”and so on. Please looking around and you would see Jielu speech and debate association advocating thinking and being pragmatic, whose members defends the truth with their silver tongue; Guizhao sinology association and Hanmei poets society read the unique knowledge of ancient sages, look through millennium classics, make friends by poems and go on a youth tour; Liyan reading association, Yaolan literature association, Stove Sharing association writing essays and shape personality, actively conveying their love towards literature to others; French association, Crazy English association, Korea association, Japanese association helping learning foreign languages by the seniors leading the juniors, enjoying exotic customs with every student; student mathematical culture association, mathematical modeling and mathematical applications association...Confrontation between wise men, practice on stage, students of CCNU are all with knowledge.
When it was difficult to choose from dozens of excellent associations, Zhao Shuai(pseudonym), a student in class of 2021 in the College of Physical Science and Technology, said,”I finally joined mathematical modeling and mathematical applications association, wanting to improve my own skills by this, hoping to have a chance to participate in some competitions to practice myself.”On the Recruitment of hundred associations, the elders build a stage to teach skills, later students learn on the stage, the wise chivalrous men meet, go through here and there together.
The sports associations was firing, igniting the whole audience with passion, practice martial arts and uphold the sword, lion dance and dragon dance, juggling, roller-skating, every association exhibited its own skill to show the charm and elegant appearance of sports to students. Dragon and lion association, martial arts association, bicycle association, table tennis association, yoga association, orienteering association, tennis association, volleyball association, badminton association, the football association of the green league...There were all kinds of associations, embodying the sports spirits of strengthening muscles and bones to forge will of students of CCNU.
As the president of the dragon and lion association, Miao Ling, a student of School of Physical Education and Sports, popularized lion dance to students earnestly and meticulously, which is a traditional sport with unique national characteristics. She said, “Dragon dance and lion dance are treasure of Chinese traditional culture. For more than a thousand years, it has been handed down from generation to generation and its prosperity has not declined. The dragon and lion spirit has enriched and developed the Chinese national spirit. I also hope everyone can know more about the traditional project with the help of association activities, wiping of sweat and harvesting happiness.”
Dance and beauty programs provided a brilliant stage for the versatile students of CCNU. With the melodious and unique national dance music, the girls dressed in ethnic minority characteristic clothing danced in front of the booth of the ethnic association in the Red Pomegranate Growth Park, which attracted a large number of students. This was also the epitome of the common development and prosperity of multi-ethnic groups in CCNU. Zhiyin harmonica association beside ,which is one of the top ten organizations in the school, won warm applause from newbies with amazing performances. The harmonica sound was sometimes low and sometimes high, and the enchanting notes persisted long after the performers had bowed out. Both the performers and the audience were immersed.
Many of those who came to the “Bai Tuan Da Zhan”were new students of CCNU. This was their first experienced recruitment of hundred associations, and it was also their further contact with CCNU. Sheng Qing, a graduate student of the 2021 from School of Chinese Language and Literature, shared:”As a new graduate student, since I wasn’t in CCNU before that I didn’t experience ‘Bai Tuan Da Zhan’. The associations present today all have the characteristic of CCNU.”At the same time, there were some familiar faces of the”second participation in the recruitment of hundred associations”. For Zhao Zhiqi, a 2020 undergraduate in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, there was a change in identity compared with last year. "Compared with recruitment of hundred associations in freshman year, I feel more mature this year, and there are many newly established associations. Moreover, last year, I took part as a department photographer, and this year I took part entirely as a participant."
Recruitment of hundred associations has finished, but there is still many wonderful things waiting to be explored in student’s college life. Association is a part of college life, where you can enjoy yourself, improve skills, harvest happiness and acquire knowledge, adding a touch of expectation to your life.
