On the afternoon of November 14, the first phase of the "Raspberry Pie" Digital Media Alumni Exchange Forum of the faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education was held in N111 of Nanhu comprehensive building. This forum was for undergraduates majoring in digital media technology, aimed at helping students understand the frontier dynamics, employment trends and career development of the major as well as promoting the construction of new engineering course and national first-class profession of digital media technology. Zou Qing, the undergraduate of Grade 2017 majoring in digital media technology of CCNU and the doctoral candidate of Grade 2020 of School of Information Management of Wuhan University, was invited as the speaker.
At the beginning of the activity, Shen Chang, the host of the activity led the students to recall the establishment history and great achievements of digital media technology, introduced the significance of the activity, and expressed their expectations for building a “family”. Then, Tan Zheng, a teacher in Department of Digital Media, delivered a speech. Tan Zheng stressed that the purpose of this activity was to build an exchange platform for students at school and graduates. The forum is named Raspberry Pie, which actually reposes the organizers' good expectations for a relaxed, lively and positive atmosphere. He encouraged the students to gather together under the leadership of their predecessors, give full play to their professional advantages, and make the four-year life of the university a complete enrichment.
Once the sharing officially began, Zou Qing recalled her undergraduate study life and introduced her general learning methods from five aspects: overcoming learning anxiety and loneliness, collecting information on postgraduate entrance examination, analyzing teaching materials, time planning and interview tips. Combined with her experiences during the preparation for postgraduate entrance examination, she summed up a lot of experience, such as using network resources to learn, implementing daily schedules, etc. Zou Qing also encouraged students to read more books and learn more from the works of predecessors in the industry, "Try to learn from a smart brain". At the same time, she suggested that the students should finalize the direction from the perspectives of interest, pragmatism and long-term basis, while cultivating the ability of humanities and social sciences as well as the capability of social communication and teamwork.
After listening to the sharing, students of all grades actively interacted with Zou Qing and put forward different questions on their study and life. Among them, answering the question about the team work, Zou Qing advised that the students should cooperate more, broaden the circle of contacts, and become the backbone with a sense of responsibility in the team.
Finally, host Shen Chang delivered a summary speech of the event. On behalf of all students majoring in digital media technology, he expressed his thanks to Zou Qing and shared his expectations for future study and life. After that, the first phase of the "Raspberry Pie" Digital Media Technology Forum of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education came to a successful conclusion.
It is reported that the "Raspberry Pie" series of activities will continue to invite outstanding alumni in the industry to communicate and share with the students, increasing the communication opportunities between the students in school and graduates, helping the undergraduates understand the current situation of the industry and make career planning and effectively promoting the construction of new engineering course construction and national first-class profession of digital media technology.
