The Work Summary of “Delight Hearts” Psychological Health Education Work Station Which Was Constructed by School of Fine Arts

In 2021, the “Delight Hearts” Psychological Health Education Work Station, which was constructed by School of Fine Arts, stuck to problem orientation, continued to use the “five excellences and one fineness” education pattern, dedicated to constant exploration of “1234” work mode which consisted of“one team, two platforms, third-grade warning and four measures”, unified heart education and moral education together and strengthened humanistic care as well as psychological counseling to adapt to and satisfy the needs of students’ psychological health education service better.

 

First, Build A Core Team

The team which mainly consisted of college party and government leaders, instructors, headteachers, tutors, psychological committee members and grade cadres of undergraduates as well as graduate students would ensure that everyone had responsibility, work was clearly divided and everyone could fulfill his own duty by operating top-down, well-bedded and gridding management mode.

 

Second, Construct Two Platforms Solidly

1.Construct Media Publicity Platform to Broadcast Healthy Psychoculture

Spread, expand, extend mental-health work brand which was integrated with aesthetic education to the media publicity platform, make the college “three WeChat Official Account, one website and one dynamic” act as a main position, use “drawing by heart with seven colors”“little beauty and little art” and so on as carriers of contents, push out around a dozen theme cartoons, propagandize mental health knowledge, impart mental regulation skills, guide students to care about their own mental health problems to enhance mental adaptive ability as well as problem solving ability, appeal to students to pay attention to psychological health and develop a rational, peaceful and healthy state of mind.

 


2.Construct Theoretical Study Platform to Improve Work Ability and Skills

Organize instructors and headmasters to participate in levels of mental health education theories training and carry out psychological guidance cultivation, psychological committee members’ development salon and some other activities. In March, the principles invited professional teacher Duan Wenting, who worked in Mental Health Center to implement special training whose theme was Keep a Watchful Eye on Mental Health, Strengthen Salvation Consciousness. In November, the leaders invited Professor Wu Caizhi, who was colleague of Mrs. Duan, to conduct a thematic training with the theme of Situations and Suggestions of CCNU Students’ Psychological Health Education Work to tamp the basis of mental health work, increase the professional teams’ knowledge and heighten their sensitivity of crisis intervention and build a line of defense of students’ mental health work with multiple cooperation.

 

 

Third, Enhance the Third-grade Warning Solidly

Build psychological crisis early warning system which cut through three levels—— college, grade and class, form ”five early” warning effects, which contained early detection, early reporting, early judging, early prevention and early controlling. Fully raise awareness of crisis of the grade cadres to ensure psychological crisis affairs could be discovered, reported and dealt in time. The college set up “small delight hearts inn” talk room, where the instructors provided service at a set time every week to offer the students mental help, assist them to solve their psychological confusion, solve existent psychological problems timely, recognize, diagnose, intervene and transfer in time.

 

Fourth, Take Serious Measures to Implement Four Moves

1.Implement Psychological Tests to Know the Students’ Mental Health’ Dynamic Conditions Clearly

Organize students to take part in the 2021 undergraduate psychological tests to help students understand and optimize themselves better. In addition, the rate of students’ participating in the test reached 100. Through the results, the principles could know students’ psychological characteristics and level of mental health, give taxonomy guidance and take track of the students effectively according to specific circumstance, confirm primary focus and know the students’ mental health’ dynamic conditions to have effective information communication with them and minimize psychological crisis events.

 

2.Carry out Thematic Education to Increase the Additional Value of Mental Health Education

Make full use of evening roll-calls, thematic activities of Youth League Organization, thematic class meetings, cadres regular meetings and other ways to implement thematic mental health education, which helped students cope with stress got from study, daily life, employment and so on, in the meantime, cultivate their good psychological quality. Let peer group play a part in supporting and helping each other, invited outstanding students to share their experience to propagandize as well as popularizing mental health knowledge strongly and enhance other students’ self-adjustment ability. Established in professional advantages, implement activities about taking care of special community who were mentally ill and make use of the healing power of art which played a positive role in the field of special education to enrich the connotation of mental health education.

 

 

3.Give Team Coaching to Improve Students’ Psychological Quality

Integrate characteristics of aesthetic education into regular psychological education work, on the basis of professional characteristics of students of School of Fine Art to give team mental coaching of expressive artistic experience, such as “explore the colors of emotions””open class given by little art” and so on to help students detect as well as expressing their feelings, relieving their unhealthy emotions, relaxing their mind, open their mind, releasing psychological pressure. As a result of that, they can understand, explore, adjust and improve themselves.

 

 

4.Strengthen crisis intervention to prevent mental health accidents

Combine daily psychological education and crisis intervention together closely, implement level-to-level and classified crisis intervention and build as well as optimize students’ mental health records. As for students who had mental illness, in the premise that confidential work was well done, the principles would pay attention to their attendance returning situation, ensure their personal security, know about their emotion state from the side, communicate with their parents regularly and urge them to take medicine timely and get psychological counseling. Give psychological counseling to students who have light psychological problems, prevent their emotions from getting worse and reduce the occurrence of mental crisis.

 

Since the “Delight Hearts” Psychological Health Education Work Station has been established, it plays an important role in mental health education. However, it still has some disadvantages, for example, it has few innovation projects and featured brands, and the effect of publicity is needed to improve too. In the future, the station will make full use of professional characteristics of School of Fine Arts, integrate multidimensional and multilevel heart education resource to further improve the quality and effect of psychological education.
