In September, the autumn wind is refreshing. On the afternoon of September 9th, the opening ceremony and mentor meeting of the 2022 graduate students of School of Mathematics and Statistics was held in classroom 9201, Building 9. Vice President Peng Shuangjie, Secretary of the Party Committee Liu Chengzhu, Dean Zhou Yuanyang, Director of the Academic Committee Deng Yinbin, Director of the Faculty Committee Li Gongbao, Vice Deans Zheng Gaofeng, Zuo Guoxin, Guo Yujin attended the meeting, all postgraduate tutors, postgraduate teaching secretary Xiong Ying, postgraduates Counselors Zhang Lan, Wu Yang and all graduate students of the 2022 attended the meeting. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Jun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the college.
First of all, on behalf of the college, Dean Zhou Yuanyang extended a warm welcome and sincere wishes to the students from all over the world, and introduced the main achievements of the college in recent years in postgraduate training and the innovation and reform of postgraduate training methods. He hoped that the students can have the world in mind, serve the country's construction, and strive to achieve excellent results in the postgraduate stage.
Zi Ruizhao, the representative of the postgraduate tutor, shared his learning experience and experience from three aspects: focusing on cultivating the ability of "self-learning", focusing on learning exchanges with others, and insisting on doing some "research", so as to inspire new students to learn well in the postgraduate stage and to achieve the ideal of life.
Li Yan, a student representative and a 2021-level doctoral student, shared her insights and experiences of studying in CCNU, and shared her learning creed - "planning for a rainy day to be orderly". She encouraged younger students to cherish their postgraduate time, actively adapt to the new environment, and enter the new state as soon as possible.
Facing the starting point of the new study, Hu Yixin, a freshman representative and a 2022 graduate student, made three suggestions to all the new students based on his teaching experience: firstly, make plans and keep improving; secondly, broaden your horizons and respect teachers; thirdly, be positive and to focus on exercise.
Deputy Dean Zuo Guoxin introduced the basic situation of the college's disciplines to the students, as well as the research direction and main achievements of each postgraduate supervisor. Dean Zuo reminded students to be down-to-earth, strictly abide by academic norms, and strive to maintain scientific research integrity through examples of academic misconduct. The students had a better understanding of the college's strong academic strength and excellent tutor team, and also recognized the importance of scientific research integrity to academic research.
At the end of the conference, Zhang Jun, deputy secretary of the party committee of the college, suggested that the students make career plans in advance, make full use of the college's high-quality platform and tutor resources, and improve themselves through postgraduate study. At the same time, always remember to abide by scientific ethics, resolutely put an end to academic misconduct, and make your academic and life path more stable.
