On November 23, the symposium for undergraduate freshman and teachers of College of Physical Science and Technology was held. College leadership members, freshmen counselors, freshmen representatives of all majors participated in the activity. The symposium was presided over by Ma Ying, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the College.
The representatives of students attending the meeting spoke in turn from three aspects: their feelings about enrollment, the main problems and difficulties existing in study and life, their opinions and suggestions on college talent cultivation and school work. The teachers at the meeting listened carefully to the students' confusion and problems in professional study, time management, interpersonal communication, life security and other aspects, and gave patient and meticulous responses.
At the meeting, Zhang Benwei, the dean of the college, said that students should adapt to the differences between college and high school as soon as possible, learn self-discipline and have their own plans. Huang Guangming, vice president of the college, talked about the class‘s mainstays need to play a good role of leading classes. Wu Shaoping, vice president of the college, said that students' problems in professional learning would be further discussed through teaching.
Zhang Mingsheng, secretary of the Party Committee, expressed his gratitude to students for their previous research in the major. It was hoped that the staff would further strengthen and improve the adaptability education of freshmen, further provide planning and guidance for growth of students according to characteristics of their majors, and cultivate effective mainstays in grades and classes to improve students' ability of self-education, self-management and self-service.
