At the beginning of the lecture, Sun Yongxiang warmly greeted the students and expressed his expectations for the students of the School of Marxism. He stressed that students of the School of Marxism should have a clear understanding of the historical orientation of the new era we are living in today, learn to view the development of the times with a new vision and a new pattern, understand the general trend of world development, and do a good job in life development planning.
Sun Yongxiang focuses on nine areas, including 15 key words of culture, economy, social livelihood, politics, science and technology, education, ecology, rule of law and international law, and enumerates . From customs of New Year, films, travel, digital RMB, foreign media to see China, China's hot words, the novel coronavirus epidemic, Wuhan’s new policy of house purchase, jointly create - high-frequency words, ChatGPT, 2023 National education work conference, low temperature weather, Hu Xinyu’s event, earthquake of Turkey, Russia's special military operations and other hot events. The social hot events on winter vacation were in-depth analysis. He commented on the hot events, talked about the inspiration of the events and analyzed them, combined with`the Party's twenty major report corresponding points , to guide the students to in-depth study and implementation and understanding of 20th CPC National Congress. In the course of teaching, Sun Yongxiang encouraged the students to analyze the social reality with the professional knowledge they have learned, to study the social phenomenon from the perspectives of ideological and political education, to combine theories with practice, so as to improve the comprehensive ability to understand the society and solve practical problems. He stressed that China's development is facing new strategic opportunities as the world is experiencing unprecedented changes in this century. At the same time, the world has entered a new period of turbulence and change, with the far-reaching impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, frequent local conflicts and turbulence, and worsening global problems. China's development has entered a period in which strategic opportunities, risks and challenges coexist, and uncertain and unpredictable factors are on the increase. We must strengthen our awareness of potential risks and maintain a bottom-line mindset. The mission and task of the CPC is to unite and lead the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects, realizing the second centenary goal, and comprehensively promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese-style modernization. The young people of today's China are born at the right time, and there is a vast stage for them to display their talents. Young people should unswervingly listen to the Party and follow the Party's lead, embrace their dreams while being down-to-earth, dare to think and do well, and aspire to be good young people in the new era who have ideals, dare to take responsibility, endure hardships and are willing to work hard.
At the end of the lecture, Sun Yongxiang also had an active interaction with the students and gave detailed answers to the doubts and thoughts raised by some students. Among them, some students put forward, how to correctly treat the authenticity of some famous people who guide public opinion on the network. Sun Yongxiang believes that, as students of Marxism College, we should first improve our theoretical literacy, equip our minds with scientific theories, analyze information on the Internet with professional knowledge of Marxist theories and philosophical thinking methods, and make scientific judgments on its events and remarks. At the same time, we should establish a correct outlook on life, values and world. Just as Marx said, "as long as the theory is thorough, it can convince people", so that we can keep a clear mind in the network world, not to follow others' opinions, and not to make ideological mistakes. Some students put forward how to balance the contradiction between the return to hometown and the choice of career development orientation when choosing a career after graduation. According to Sun Yongxiang, students should first have solid professional knowledge, improve their comprehensive ability at the same time, do a good job in each stage of the university development plan, form their core competitiveness, in order to have more opportunities to choose in the process of choosing a career; At the same time, comprehensive analysis should be carried out when choosing a career, and the most suitable platform should be selected. "Only the one suitable for oneself is the best", rather than simply evaluating the good and bad based on the region and position.
