In order to further strengthen the ideological and political education of college students and further strengthen the study of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, on the evening of May 14, Zhang Yongji, a member of the school's Boya preaching group and a postgraduate counselor of the School of Law, conducted an theme education meeting for the 2021 undergraduates of the School of the Law. Starting from the traditional meaning of the law, Zhang Yongji narrated the historical evolution of the thought of law. He compared socialist legal power with the capitalist legal power and feudal legal power, and further explained that the legal ideology and system of socialist countries are truly rooted in, serve, and for the people. He then introduced the origin, development, and progress of the construction of China under the rule of law from the historical stages such as the revolutionary period, the socialist revolution and construction period, the reform and opening up period, and the entry of socialism with Chinese characteristics into a new era. He explained that the CPC had adhered to the people's concept since its founding, and implemented the people centered development idea in all stages of governing the country according to law. During his speech, Zhang Yongji explained that youth, as an important component of the people, lay in the future of the country and the nation. The younger generation should experience the people-centered development concept in the journey of governing the country according to law, study diligently, develop comprehensively, accumulate internal skills, and aspire to serve the people.
It is reported that the Party Committee of the college attached great importance to the construction of the counselor team. Recently, Wan Zong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of the Law, presided over a collective lesson preparation meeting for counselor themed education. Each counselor selected a theme based on the director of the school and prepared for the lesson. The college regularly organizes counselor meeting themed on educational collective lesson preparation, and counselors use latecomers to provide themed education to students of different grades, spreading the voice of the Party, preaching the Party's theory, and conveying the warmth of the Party, further establish students' ideal beliefs and moral qualities.
