The Voice of CCUN On the afternoon of October 25, the first Counselor Growth and Development Forum of National Normal Universities was opened in the Lecture Hall on the first floor of the Liberal Arts Complex Building of CCNU, which was sponsored by the Training Center for Ideological and Political Work Teams of Universities under the Ministry of Education (CCNU) and the Office of Student Affairs, co-organized by the magazine The Party Building and Ideological Education in Schools and organized by the School of Chinese language and Literature. Yu Xianting, Deputy Director of the Department of Ideological and Political Work of the Ministry of Education, Xia Lixin, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chen Diming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Tan Qinghua, Director of the Department of Ideological and Political Work of the Ministry of Education of Hubei Province, Xie Chengyu, President of the magazine The Party Building and Ideological Education in Schools, the relevant person in charge of the Office of Student Affairs and the School of Chinese language and Literature, and nearly 100 counselors and other ideological and political cadres attended the opening ceremony.
At first, Xia Lixin, Secretary of the Party Committee, delivered a welcome speech. He thanked the Department of Ideological and Political Work of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education of Hubei Province for their long-term care and support for the work of CCNU, welcomed the counselor trainees who participated in the forum, and put forward three hopes for the counselor teachers: First, adhere to the same direction and achieve mutual learning and progress. It is hoped that counselor teachers can strengthen in-depth understanding, enhance professional identity, emotional identity and mission identity, fully learn and absorb the educational wisdom and work experience of peers in normal universities, and truly exchange and learn from each other. Second, adhere to the problem-oriented, improve the quality of ideological and political work. It is hoped that the counselor teachers can fully exchange and discuss through this forum to solve the old problems and new problems faced by university students' ideological and political education, actively explore new ideas and new ways of ideological and political work, and strive to improve the quality of ideological and political work, and constantly create a new situation of ideological and political work in universities. Third, adhere to the career direction and strive to be experts in ideological and political education. It is hoped that the counselor teachers will keep the original mission in mind, take becoming “the most beautiful counselor" as the goal and direction, steadily hone their skills, continuously improve their professional knowledge and skills related to ideological and political work, achieve mastery, apply what they have learned and create a school of their own, and strive to become experts in the field of ideological and political work as soon as possible.
Subsequently, Xie Chengyu, President of the magazine The Party Building and Ideological Education in Schools, read out the award results of the papers. This paper solicitation activity had received positive response and active participation from counselor teachers of Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University, Northeast Normal University and other nationwide normal universities, and a total of 79 papers. After expert review, a total of 10 first prize papers, 20 second prize papers, 30 third prize papers, 19 excellent prize papers were awarded. The magazine will select the best of the winning papers to publish, and the Central China Normal University Press will also publish the special issue of the forum papers.
At the meeting, the leaders presented the award certificates to the representatives of the winning papers.
Yu Xianting, Deputy Director of the Department of Ideological and Political Work of the Ministry of Education, gave a speech. He expressed the Department of Ideological and Political Work of the Ministry of Education's great attention to and support for the work of this forum, as well as the care and love of counselor teachers in nationwide normal universities, and put forward three hopes for the counselor teachers participating in the forum: First, adhere to the right direction and improve political standing. It is hoped that the counselor teachers insist on taking learning and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as a compulsory course，further learn and effectively apply Marxist world outlook and methodology, maintain political resolve, maintain a steady political direction and hone our political character in the face of major political tests, and constantly raise political standing and political consciousness. Second, cultivate the feelings of education and concentrate on moral education. It is hoped that counselor teachers will always adhere to the spirit of educators as the torch of thought, deeply cultivate the feelings of education, firm the ideal and belief of "having a great heart and serving the country sincerely", cultivate the moral sentiment of "speaking and acting to serve as an example to all", cultivate the teaching wisdom of "enlightening the heart and teaching according to their talents", uphold the attitude of "diligent learning to seek truth and innovation", and cultivate the kind heart of "loving teaching and students and willing to serve”, establish the broad pursuit of" bearing the world in mind and teaching people with culture", firmly cultivate the "responsibility field" of ideological and political education, constantly improve and innovate the ways and methods of ideological and political education, and strive to improve the quality of ideological and political education, so as to cultivate new people of the era with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labour for the Party and the country. Third, firmly pursue and achieve long-term career development. It is hoped that counselor teachers firm career direction, hone professional skills, work hard to learn professional knowledge theory and practical skills related to ideology and politics, seriously study the new situation, new challenges and new tasks of ideological and political education of university students under the new situation, constantly innovate ideological and political education concepts, ideas and methods, and actively explore new models and new experience of ideological and political education of university students in the new era.

It is reported that the forum lasted for three days, and the participants of the forum would collectively start a group ice-breaking trip, carefully listen to five special reports, visit the Mental Health Education Center of Wuhan University and "One-stop" student communities of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Central China Normal University, and carry out in-depth discussion and research in groups as well as mutual learning together. Most of the teachers shared in the course were counselors in normal universities who had won the honors of the most beautiful university counselors nationwide and the annual person of university counselors.
