Voice of CCNU On the evening of March 3, 2024, the 2023 Dajiang Scholarship Award Ceremony was held in the Lecture Hall of the College, in which Lun Jiancong, an undergraduate student majoring in Internet and New Media in the class of 2021, and the team of Yang Jingwen, a graduate student majoring in Journalism and Communication in the class of 2023 and Yang Xinyu, a graduate student majoring in Journalism and Communication in the class of 2022, were awarded the prizes.

Prof. Jiang Zuosu, the funder of "DaJiang Scholarship", Mr. Xia Shouxin, Secretary of Party Committee of the College, Mr. Wan Yi, President of the College, Mr. Cheng Xiuli, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of the College, Mr. Zhou Li, Mr. Chen Ke, Vice President of Party Committee of the College, Ms. Huang Yining, Secretary of the Youth League Committee and Ms. Du Yuwei, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the College were present at the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Cheng Xiuli.


After the singing of the academy song, Wan Yi introduced the establishment and development of the DaJiang Scholarship. Since its inception, DaJiang Scholarship has provided awards to many outstanding full-time students and excellent teachers, and will continue to inspire journalists to continue to struggle. He wished that the students in the audience would be firm in their ideals of journalism and shine in the School of Journalism and Communication.


Afterwards, Xia Shouxin read out the Decision on Awarding 2023 DaJiang Scholarship, hoping that the award-winning students will cherish the honor, set a good example, guard against arrogance and continue to make more progress.


The fourth item of the ceremony was to recognize the award-winning individuals and groups. Jiang Zuosu presented the award to Lun Jiancong, while Xia Shouxin, Zhou Li, and Wan Yi and Chen Ke presented the award to Yang Jingwen and Yang Xinyu teams respectively.



After the awards were presented, the winners and representatives of the winning teams spoke in turn. Lun Jiancong shared his growth experience after entering the university. He said, "The College of Journalism and Communication of CCNU is a dream-making space that allows everything to happen, with infinite possibilities, and we have to be brave enough to take the first step to try." In his opinion, New Communication is a major that combines study and practice, and it is necessary to continuously improve practical ability in practice.


Ms. Yang spoke on behalf of her team, telling the story of her and her team's field visit, researching information and participating in the Challenge Cup. She believed that "DaJiang Scholarship is not only an honor, but also a spiritual torch belonging to journalists, which unites the most simple values and ideals of journalism.


Yang Xinyu shared their experience of visiting 16 primary and secondary schools in three years and reading the red classics. She said that they would take this award as a new starting point and devote themselves to their future study and life with more enthusiasm.



Finally, Mr. Jiang Zuosu introduced to the students the original intention of establishing the "DaJiang Scholarship": "The establishment of such a scholarship is based on the DaJiang River, which is a symbol of hope for the future and for the youth." He hoped that with the efforts of students and teachers, the School of Journalism and Communication would be able to reach new academic peaks, and expressed his heartfelt wishes to the students present.
