Feng Shengbing, Party Secretary of the School of Sociology, Wan Zong, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Law, Pan Guangwei, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Politics and International Studies, Ma Jun, Deputy Party Secretary of the Institute of China Rural Studies, Wang Li, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Sociology, and the full-time and part-time counselors from various training units participated, and the activity was presided over by Li Xianling, Deputy Director of the ideological and political affairs Department of the Office of Student Affairs.
At the beginning of the activity, Li Xianling, Deputy Director of the Office of Student Affairs, emphasized the significance of selecting the theme of graduate students' mental health education" of the 14th “Research and Learning Club" of 2024, and stressed the important position of mental health education in the ideological and political work of graduate students, hoping that the ideological and political work team can use the platform of "Research and Learning Club" to fully communicate and enhance the performance of related work. Subsequently, Feng Shengbing, Party Secretary of the School of Sociology, warmly welcomed the arrival of the participants, and said in his speech that "There are many merits in the world; only educating people is the most important", and hoped that graduate counselors should keep the bottom line of student safety, constantly improve the level of mental health education, and better help students improve their psychological quality.
In the stage of subject sharing, Liu Qian, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Fine Arts, shared the relevant work experience of students' psychological crisis intervention with actual work cases with the theme of “Tread as if on thin ice -- to be very careful -- Do a good job of psychological crisis intervention for graduate students". Secretary Liu said that mental health education is not only a systematic project, but also a long-term task, which need to be well done.
Zhang Ting, graduate counselor of the School of Psychology, shared the skills and methods in the process of graduate mental health education, with the theme of "Want to be a beam of light - Do the work of psychological education for graduate students with temperature and strength", thought that mental health education should be done with temperature and strength, and called on everyone to not only illuminate the students, but also care about yourself.
In the exchange session, the participants conducted full exchanges and discussions based on their respective work practices around the disposal of typical cases in the mental health education work of graduate students, how to solve work problems, and how to enhance the participation of other forces such as mentors.
At the end of the discussion session, Wang Li, Deputy Secretary of the School of Sociology, shared that ultimately, mental health education is the work of educating people, and it’s required to do a good job of psychological education of graduate students, to give full play to the strength of mentors, to build a multi-subject linkage work system, effectively combine professional characteristics and integrate them into the ideological guidance, value guidance, practice and other aspects of education. At the same time, on behalf of the organizers of the event, she said that she must actively plan and take the initiative to further implement and do well the "Research and learning Club".
