"If you wear a blue helmet, you know the value of peace. I had the privilege to spend the best part of my youth on the peacekeeping battlefield." On June 14, at the lecture of “We Are Part of the Strong Army, We Are the Youth of CCNU” held in our school, Song Yanting, a retired female soldier who had been to Lebanon for peacekeeping, shared teachers and students with her military experience and sentiment.
The lecture was sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs, hosted by the School of Marxism, co-organized by the College of Physical Science and Technology, and the School of Politics and International Studies, aiming to highlight the style of retired university students with the theme of the lecture, and integrate the spirit of patriotism, feelings of home and country, and responsibility into the school's recruitment propaganda and the growth education of university students.
At the site of the event, our school's "We Are Part of the Strong Army" propaganda group was officially established. As the first group members, 10 outstanding retired university soldiers from three schools accepted the offer of employment. Subsequently, they combined their military career to preach, affectionately told the harvest and growth in the "melting pot" of the barracks, passed on the strong voice of the times to teachers and students, and showed the spiritual outlook of young students. This is the "rallying call" played by the young students returning from the military, and it is also a "big ideological and political course" that gathers the consensus of the strong army and stimulates the power of youth.
"University students join the military with their pens and devote themselves to the practice of strengthening the army, which is not only the glorious cause of serving the motherland and dedicating themselves to the construction of national defense, but also an important opportunity to temper their overall growth." Chen Deming, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of CCNU, put forward that we should give full play to the demonstration and leading role of national defense education in the overall work of cultivating morality and cultivating people, and promote the innovative development of national defense education from the strategic height of national defense and military modernization and safeguarding national security. Continue to carry forward the glorious tradition and fine style of "We Are Part of the Strong Army, We Are the Youth of CCNU", so that more young people understand national defense, pay attention to national defense, and support national defense. It is hoped that the "We Are Part of the Strong Army" propaganda group will continue to guide the majority of young people to translate patriotic enthusiasm into practical actions, and contribute themselves to the realization of the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
It is reported that our school carry out a series of measures such as strict military training of university students, the selection of outstanding university students to join the army, and the implementation of the soldier special graduate enrollment plan, through the patriotic and strong army education in the whole process of talent training. Over the years, a large number of students joined the army to serve the country, with practical actions to add a touch of youth color. There are also a large number of passionate young people returning from the military, with the never changed initial heart in the campus. The baton of "We Are Part of the Strong Army" has been passed on from generation to generation of students.
