The Office of Student Affairs Organized an Exchange and Research Activity on Ethnic Unity Education in Beijing Universities

The Deputy Director-General of the Party's Student Work Department, Han Junhua, and Deputy Director, Wu Jiancheng, the Deputy Secretary of the Party's Branch Committee of the School of Humanities, Gui Wenliang, and the Deputy Secretary of the Party's Branch Committee of the School of Public Administration, Xiao Wei, the staff of the Office for Promoting National Unity and Progress, Meherdi Nurli, Hemera and the counselor of the Chemistry School, Wu Shuangxin, and the counselor of the Physics School, Wang Di, participated in the study and learning activities. The research team visited the China Agricultural University, the Central University for Nationalities, and the Beijing Normal University to learn about the unique practices of promoting the common consciousness of the Chinese nation, the construction of the ethnic work team, and the operation model of the relevant workshops, as well as the construction of the "Introduction to the Community of the Chinese Nation" course. During their stay in Beijing, the research team also visited the Museum of the Community of the Chinese Nation.


On the morning of May 14th, the research team went to China Agricultural University for research and study. Zhang Yin, the Minister of Student Work at the Party Committee of China Agricultural University, and Guli, the Deputy Minister, as well as relevant responsible comrades participated in the discussion. Zhang Yin introduced the practices of ethnic unity and progress education, psychological health education, and student aid management from the perspectives of work system, institutional construction, team building, and brand activities. Yasengjiang Maimaiti, a minority full-time counselor, introduced the five measures for ethnic work and the five practice-based education brands. He focused on sharing the relevant experience of building the "Stone" studio.

On the afternoon of May 14, the research team conducted a research and learning activity at the Central University for Nationalities. A Li Mi, a senior-level official in the Party's Department of Student Affairs at the university, and Vice Minister Zhao Danhua, as well as relevant responsible officials, participated in the exchange and discussion. Zhao Danhua introduced the history and development of the Central University for Nationalities, and detailed the thinking and measures taken to educate college students to consolidate the sense of common community of the Chinese nation, as well as the situation of the course construction and textbook use of "An Introduction to the Community of the Chinese Nation". Both sides had in-depth exchanges on course construction and the organization of campus cultural activities.

On the afternoon of May 14, the research group went to Beijing Normal University for research and study. Chen Jinbo, deputy minister of the Student work Department of the Party Committee of Beijing Normal University, and relevant responsible comrades participated in the exchange discussion. Chen Jinbo introduced the national unity education system of Beijing Normal University around "one idea, two teams, three guarantees, four-wheel drive, five identities". The two sides had in-depth exchanges on the effectiveness of national unity education work and the construction of general courses.

On May 15th, the survey team visited the National Unity Experience Hall (the former site of the Mongolian and Tibetan School) for a field trip.

The teachers who participated in the survey all agreed that the exchange and research trip to Beijing universities was very beneficial. They deepened their understanding of the new era's work on promoting ethnic unity and progress in colleges and universities, recognized the urgency and necessity of innovatively carrying out education to consolidate the sense of common community among all ethnic groups in colleges and universities, broadened their thinking on ethnic work, and further clarified their future efforts to contribute to the construction of the community with a shared future for the Chinese nation. We will learn from advanced experiences and strive to build the Huawei benchmark and exemplar for consolidating the sense of common community among all ethnic groups.
