On the afternoon of October 17, the second phase of the "Graduate Counselor Salon" in the Autumn semester of 2024, sponsored by the Student Work Department of the Party Committee and hosted by the School of Politics and International Studies, was held in the conference room 1005 of the South Building of the Liberal Arts Research Building, with the theme of "Improving the scientific research Ability of Graduate Counselors". Professor Wang Jianguo, Vice Dean of the School of Politics and International Studies, and Professor Kang Fengyun of the School of Politics and International Studies shared the topic. More than 20 people, including Li Diao, director of the Ideological and political Affairs Department of the Student Work Department of the Party Committee, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the training unit and full-time and part-time counselors of graduate students, participated. The event was hosted by Pan Guangwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Politics and International Studies.
At the beginning of the event, Li Diao welcomed the arrival of all participants, and pointed out the significance of the platform of "Research Hui" for the development of graduate counselors, emphasizing the important role of scientific research ability in the construction of graduate ideological and political teams. He hopes that through "research and learning Hui", we can fully communicate and learn from each other, so as to empower and enhance the efficiency of relevant work in the future.
Professor Kang Fengyun, with the title of "Confidence and Action: Graduate Counselors' scientific Research Talk", introduced the scientific research experience of outstanding counselors from three aspects: "Confidence: Counselors can do scientific research well", "Action: Talk more, think more, write more" and "Scientific research and education: taking both into account and not wrong". She pointed out that ideological and political workers should find their own interests in scientific research and read relevant academic papers, and improve their own scientific research ability while educating people.
Professor Wang Jianguo shared the skills and methods in thesis writing with the title of "How to write a good academic paper". Professor Wang Jianguo pointed out that the writing of academic papers should start from the research review, and stressed the importance of literature review. Secondly, he shared the writing skills of academic papers from the aspects of how to find a good topic, the problems that should be paid attention to in the topic selection of academic papers, and how to convert a current political issue into an academic issue.
Subsequently, the participants carried out discussions and exchanges around the problems encountered in scientific research. At the end of the activity, Professor Wang Jianguo said to everyone: "Read, read more, read more, a little makes a lot of writing; Write, write more, write more. Practice makes perfect.
This issue of "Research Hui" aims to build an experience exchange platform for the improvement of graduate counselors' scientific research ability, further strengthen the scientific research ability of graduate students' ideological and political team, and promote the deepening of graduate students' ideological and political work, improve quality and efficiency.
