The Voice of CCNU The 29th “Counselor Salon“of 2024, hosted by the student Affairs Department of Central China Normal University and organized by the School of Marxism and the “Seek Truth” Counselor Growth and Development Studio, was held in the 407 Meeting Room of the Liberal Arts Research Building, on the morning of October 22th, at 10:00. Jiang Yuan, a counselor from Northeastern University and winner of the national titles of “The Most Beautiful University Counselor”(2023) and “The Annual University Counselor of The Year”(2022), shared her experience online with the topic of "Cultivating New Talents with Craftsmanship——Telling Ideological and Political Stories in the Career of Escorting Youth". Over 20 full-time and part-time counselors from various colleges participated in the salon. The salon was hosted by Shao Lili, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Marxism.
Firstly, Jiang Yuan demonstrated how to tell ideological and political stories from three aspects: "ideological and political education through reading", "ideological and political education through practice", and "ideological and political education through academic pursuit". Through specific forms of ideological and political education such as "dormitory reading clubs", "a book for freshmen", "three-dimensional education", and "scholarly communities", she called on counselors to cultivate the craftsmanship of educating people and tell good ideological and political stories in education. Then, taking the topic of "where one's heart is set", Jiang Yuan explained the mission and original intention of the counselor position, and addressed the counselor representatives present, encouraging them to do innovative, thoughtful and meaningful things. At the same time, she wished all counselor teachers could shine on their respective positions.
Lastly, Jiang Yuan engaged in an interactive exchange with the counselors who participated in the salon. The counselors present gained deep insights from their conversations with Ms. Jiang. The counselor salon concluded successfully.
