The Voice of CCNU On the morning of October 25th at 10:00, the 30th Counselor Salon of 2024, hosted by the Office of Student Affairs and organized by School of Education and the "Qiuzhen" Counselor Growth and Development Studio, was held in the Tianjiabing 901 conference room. Tian Youyi, the vice dean, professor, doctoral supervisor of the School of Education, the first batch of renowned teachers in ideological and political education courses by the Ministry of Education, and "Guiyuan Distinguished Teacher" of CCNU, shared his experience on the topic "Reshaping the Scholarly Spirit: The Path to Enhancing Learning Power for University Counselors in the New Era." More than 20 full-time and part-time counselors from various colleges participated in the salon. The salon was chaired by Wang Lu, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Education.
Wang Lu warmly welcomed all the teachers and briefly introduced the theme and significance of this salon. She pointed out that under the background of the new era, university counselors, as the backbone of college students' ideological and political education, the enhancement of their learning power is of great significance for promoting their own career development and strengthening the effectiveness of education.

Tian Youyi, focusing on the theme "What are the core qualities that university counselors should possess in the new era," cited the research results of many scholars and elaborated in detail on the requirements of political literacy, moral literacy, theoretical literacy, management literacy, cooperative literacy, and media literacy. When discussing "why study," he cited the views from the book "The Learning Revolution," pointing out that the world is experiencing a critical turning point, and mastering learning methods is equivalent to holding the golden key to the future. He deeply analyzed the connotation of learning power, focusing on the importance of reading power, reflection power, and research power. At the same time, he criticized the phenomenon of shallow reading in the fast-food era, emphasizing the durability, thoughtfulness, and inspiration of book reading for cultivating critical thinking skills. In addition to sharing, he also encouraged counselors to be brave in being alone and good at reflecting, to view their work and growth from theoretical, dialogical, and critical perspectives.

In the free exchange session, Tian Youyi discussed and exchanged ideas on how new counselors can transition and adapt to their roles, how to improve work efficiency in fragmented time, and how university counselors can balance self-improvement with external output. Everyone actively spoke, expressing their experiences in counselor work based on their own experiences, and the atmosphere was lively and warm.
This counselor salon not only provided a platform for counselors to learn and communicate but also pointed out the direction and action guide for improving learning power. The participating counselors unanimously expressed that they would take this salon as an opportunity to strengthen learning, be brave in practice, and continuously improve their professional qualities and educational abilities.
