The Voice of CCNU On the afternoon of November 1st, the 26th community "Professors Face to Face" activity of the College of Physical Science and Technology was carried out in the community studio of Building 18 in the East District of the school. Professor Zhou Daimei and five freshmen of grade 24 had a special symposium on career education.

1 Professor Introduction
Zhou Daimei, Professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Physical Science and Technology. In 2003, he received his Doctor of Science degree, engaged in phenomenological theory research of high energy nuclear physics. It has been funded by National Natural Science Foundation Youth Fund, face Project, international cooperation and exchange project, etc. He has visited the Southern Institute of Nuclear Physics in Italy, the University of Bergen in Norway and Suranlari University of Technology in Thailand many times. He has been the head teacher of class 1310, Class 1709 and Class 2211 of the college.

2 Contents of the discussion
Professor Zhou first shared his study experience with the students and explained in detail how he had gradually and continuously climbed the academic road. She warned students that college life should not be a place of slack and ease, but should become a precious stage of unremitting struggle and the courage to open up new horizons, and she encouraged students to keep moving forward, actively explore the unknown, and create more possibilities. Professor Chow believes that the core of what drives individuals forward is to stick to their interests and draw on the power of example. She integrates her rich teaching experience into career education, emphasizing that teachers should do their best to support students and uphold the educational concept of happy teaching and loving students. In the face of students' confusion about how to deal with inequity, Professor Zhou pointed out that absolute fairness does not exist, and the important thing is to adjust their mentality and firmly believe that as long as they put enough effort, their excellence will eventually be recognized. When talking about the choice of postgraduate entrance examination and postgraduate retention that students are concerned about, she emphasized that students who are interested in this must pay attention to the study of each professional course and pay attention to daily accumulation, because whether it is postgraduate entrance examination or postgraduate retention, it is to open up a broader road for personal career and increase more possibilities.
In response to a question from students about whether college students must join student organizations, Professor Zhou said, "It mainly depends on individual will and choice. However, regardless of the choice, as a community, we should always think about what value we can bring to others, which often results in unexpected rewards, rather than blindly taking from others."

Finally, Professor Zhou expressed his personal opinion on the phenomenon of "devaluation of academic qualifications". She believes that in today's society, the criteria for talent selection are no longer limited to performance, and the comprehensive ability of job seekers is also highly valued. Therefore, contemporary college students should not only have solid professional knowledge, but also actively participate in various activities to make up for their own shortcomings in order to enhance their comprehensive competitiveness. For normal university students, Professor Zhou especially suggested that students actively participate in teacher skill competitions and volunteer teaching activities, in order to enrich personal experience and hone teaching skills. In conclusion, Professor Zhou stressed that in learning and career, we should learn to adjust our mentality, remain calm in the face of challenges, and realize that the development of things is often not subject to personal will. The key is to go for it, move forward, persevere, and never give up.

It is reported that since the college launched the "professors face to face" activity in 2008, the college teachers have taken the initiative to extend education from classroom to extracurricular, from professional guidance to ideological and political education, and constantly improve students' ideological and political quality, moral and cultural literacy while improving their professional quality. In October 2023, the "Professors Face to Face" community Studio was listed in the "one-stop" student community comprehensive Service Center (East 18 branch center), and has carried out 25 community sessions of "Professors Face to Face". The community studio makes use of the college's outstanding high-level talents and faculty resources, gives full play to the advantages of professional teachers in educating people, sinks into the nearest educational space from students - the community, and leads students' development with a strong "spiritual magnetic field". The 26th issue of "Professors Face to Face", with career planning as the theme, carries out career education for the freshmen of 2024, aiming to help students rationally plan their academic and career development, and establish the correct concept of choosing jobs and growing talents. This semester, the College will continue to make good use of the "one-stop" student community park, build the brand of "professors face to face" activity, and create a good atmosphere for educating people.
