The Opening Ceremony Was Hosted By Prof. Tsuyoshi Namigata From Kyushu University

Recently, The 8th International Symposium on Ethical Literary Criticism was held in Kitakyushu International Conference Center, Fukuoka, Japan. The conference was co-organised by Foreign Literature Studies ,CCNU, the International Center for Ethical Literary Criticism, CCNU,  Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies of World Literature, Zhejiang University and Kyushu University. More than 260 scholars from Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, America, Russia, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Denmark, Brazil, the South Korea, the Philippines and Indonesia gathered together. They had discussions on the theory of ethical literary criticism as well as the practice. Professor Hui Su, Chief Editor of Foreign Literature Studies, Professor Luo Lianggong, Professor Li Exian, Professor Yang Jian, Associate Professor Liu Xiying and Associate Professor Wang Shufu attended the conference as organizer representatives.


The opening ceremony was hosted by Prof. Tsuyoshi Namigata from Kyushu University. Professor Su Hui, General Secretary of the International Association for Ethical Literary Criticism (IAELC), read the congratulatory letter from Mr. Zhang Yingchuan, Consul of  Consulate-General of the Peoples Republic of China in Fukuoka, Japan. Mr. Nakano, Dean of Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Global Society in Kyushu University highly praised the conference. He said, Kitakyushu International Conference Center was the stage of East Asian Literature Forum 8 years ago, where Mo Yan, the winner of Nobel Literature Prize delivered a speech. The city of Kitakyushu was the hometown of many important writers of Japanese modern literature, it was meaningful to have such a grand meeting here.


More than ten world-known professors, respectively from China, Germany, Russia, Norway, Denmark, Philippines and Japan, made presentations on this symposium. The experts had a cutting-edge study on the theory and practice of ethical literary criticism.


The presentation was divided into 32 groups, including the European and American literature group, the Japanese literature group, the Chinese literature group, the comparative literature group, the interdisciplinary literature group, the children's literature group, and the drama literature group, etc.. All the CCNU professors made keynote speeches, among which Professor Li Exian, Professor Su Hui and Professor Luo Lianggong gave speeches or hosted the conference respectively. The successful convening of this international conference will have a significantly far-reaching impact on expanding the international influence of CCNU and theForeign Literature Studies, as well as promoting the worldwide dissemination and development of ethical literary criticism.
