Based on Fitzgerald’s novel of the same name, The Great Gatsby was officially released in the United States on May 10, 2013. The film tells the heartbreaking story from the perspective of Nick Carraway, an unsung writer whose golden dream quest is shattered as he witnesses the world of paper and gold and writes about an unrequited love, an undying dream.

With the repeated lines of “Dominate destiny” in the movie, the audience may discover the ambition of the character.

What impresses the moviegoers most may be the love between Daisy and Gatsby, with the striking scene of the death of Gatsby at last. When watching it, their voices appear to come in my mind.

“Falling leaves into the pond, and the love returns to its roots.”

In addition to what mentioned above, there is an expose of the complex humanity in The Great Gatsby， which has the grey area between black and white. In my view, Gatsby's greatness lies not in his wealth and fame, but in his hard work and his untainted and pure mind.
