And it was immediately responded by a large number of programmers. The so-called 996 refers to working from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. every day for six days a week. And the "996.ICU" means "the 996 working system is so stressful that sends workers to ICU". And the reason why ”996” so famous is that as the development of Internet companies in China, more and more managers have taken it for granted to ask workers to work overtime without extra pay.
