The recent years have witnessed the rise in historical tourism in Xi’an, my hometown. The boom of cultural and historical tourism has helped breathe new life into some of the heritage sites, fueling the rejuvenation of local communities. What efforts have been made? Can we further promote the tourism?
最近几年，历史旅游在我的家乡西安的兴起。文化、历史旅游的蓬勃发展有助于为历史遗地注入了新的活力，为当地社区的复兴提供了动力。我们做了哪些努力？我们能否进一步促进旅游业发展？

In 2021, the City Wall Marathon took place on the ancient city wall of Xi'an, capital of northwestern China's Shaanxi province. Started in 1993, the City Wall Marathon exposes a myriad of runners to the ancient charm of the city, which was once the country's capital, for 13 dynasties and empires.
2021年，城墙马拉松在中国西北部的陕西省省会西安的古城墙上举行。城墙马拉松于1993年首次举办，让无数跑步者感受了这座13朝古都的古典魅力。
However, to our surprise, the city wall was in a wretched state 40 years ago, when weeds ran wild on top of the wall and rubbish piled up against it at the bottom. Therefore, for decades, the local authorities have worked hard to repair the city wall and to explore preventive protection methods, like arranging supervision to identify any potential risks and so forth.
然而，令我们惊讶的是，40年前，城墙的状况非常糟糕，墙顶杂草丛生，墙底垃圾堆积如山。因此，几十年来，当地政府一直在努力修复城墙，并探索预防性保护方法，如安排监督以确定任何潜在的风险等等。
Developing a historical and cultural block nearby is also a significant procedure to turn the city wall area into a tourist getaway. In Xi’an, tourists can visit a historical museum, see displays of local intangible cultural heritage as well as enjoying fashionable cafes and shops.
在附近开发历史文化街区也是将城墙地区变成旅游胜地的一个重要步骤。在西安，游客可以参观历史博物馆，看到当地的非物质文化遗产展，享受时尚的咖啡馆和商店。
With regards with the measures to further promote the historical tourism, I believe it is integral to make use of social media in the digital area. Building accounts and posting delicate photos with a few words about an upcoming event are always useful approaches.
关于进一步促进历史旅游的措施，我认为，在数字时代，使用社交媒体是不可或缺的。建立账户，发布精致的照片并配文即将到来的活动，总是有用的方法。
