Located at No. 325 West Nanjing Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai, the Shanghai History Museum is a geographic museum that comprehensively reflects the 6,000 years’ long local and revolutionary history of Shanghai.
上海市历史博物馆位于上海市黄浦区南京西路325号，是全面地反映了上海6000年悠久地方历史和革命历史的地志性博物馆。
On entering the museum, I was attracted by the interactive screens showing the history of Shanghai in the first floor showroom. To my surprise, the earliest Chinese wells, ivory scepters, and incense burners appeared in ancient Shanghai.
一走进博物馆，我就被一楼展厅里展示上海历史的互动屏幕吸引了。令我感到惊讶的是，远古上海就出现了中国最早的水井、象牙权杖、香炉等。
My impressive artifact dating back to prehistoric times is the Pottery Pig Figure, which is charmingly naive. It represents a plumb pig with short legs, short nose, small eyes and a swollen belly down to the floor, reflecting the transition of ancient people lifestyles from the capturing mode of collecting, fishing and hunting to the production mode of agriculture and domestication of animals.
让我印象最深刻的史前时期的展品是一个憨态可掬的家猪陶塑。它呈现了一个矮脚、短吻、小眼、体态浑圆，大肚贴地的肥猪形象，反映那时人们的生活已由采集、渔猎的攫取型经济，发展为农耕、驯养的生产型经济。
