Reported by the Voice of CCNU In the evening of October 28th , Class 1708 and 1808 of the School of Mathematics and Statistic held a Communist Youth League Activity in the theme of ‘study the spirit of National Education Convention, master the new trend of education’. With all the members of the two classes participated, the activity was hosted by the League Secretary Pan Yating from Class1708.
Discuss Theoretical Issues Together
At the very beginning, organization assistant Wang Wenjie from Class 1708 talked about the theme grounding on ‘country is the basis of technology and education’. He proved the importance of technology and education by illustrating social phenomenon that teachers are being less respected, analyzing that teachers and teaching are the foundation of education, quoting President Xi’s appeal of promoting teachers’ position in society. Every student listened carefully during his presentation.
According to Wang, if there’s no education, there’s no technology or development. Being significant sectors of education, school education as well as teacher education should be paid more attention. And to promote teachers’ social position is a vital direction for our country and party’s reform.
By learning the theory, the students got the basic spirit of the convention and a deeper understanding of the difference between ‘technology makes a country thrive’ and ‘country makes technology thrive’. Moreover, they developed more passion towards the career of teacher.
Think by Watching Movie
After studying the theory, all the students watched a part of the educational movie, Les Choristes, which reflected an education dilemma similar to examination-oriented education in China.Therefore, students can reflect on the education they received and expect future education modes while watching the movie.
Pan said: “Through movie, students can see the influence of education on students directly. The convention mentioned that to solve the problem of education, we should not just focus on scores, graduation, diploma, paper and title. And this is the exact issue that us students from normal university should pay attention to.”
Work Out Together
After indoor activities, all the students took part in outdoor activities in campus. By doing exercises, communicating, playing games, everyone got to know the campus and each other better.
Monitor of Class 1708, Shu Xinghong blended math problems with games, which promoted students’ interest towards their major.
Champion team of outdoor activities said that the game of solving puzzle, cross-country orienteering and challenge is not only interesting, but also helpful for them to get to know friends and familiarize campus.
Aiming at mixing moral education, PE, art together, the activity impressed students by means of bound theoretical problems with recreational education. This activity lasted for two hours and ended with a group photo of Class 1708 and 1808. (Reporter Wang Wenjie , Sun Yue)
