On October 30th ,at 11am,the 23rd lunch session for leaders and freshmen in CCNU was held smoothly in first floor meeting room of administrative building.Headmaster Zhao Lingyun,Deputy Party Secretaries Qin Hong ,Chen Houfeng,Heputy Headmaster Xia Lixin,Assistant Principal Lin Gengmao and other leaders from departments attended this lunch session.At the same time,21 freshman representatives from different institutes also attended this session.
From the outset of the session,compere Qin hong introduced leaders and delegates presently and declared the start.Compere Qin explained that lunch session for leaders in CCNU is a platform to deepen communication between students and leaders,a new institution connecting students with teachers and an eye-catching board among all kinds of university activities in central China region.
The second part of lunch session was student delegates making statements,21 students raised questions and offered suggestions in aspects such as campus security,logistics support and study resource.In campus security,a freshman named Huang Hao,from School of Educational Information Technology, raised the question about the incomplete street lamp construction and the hidden danger of security,hoping the related department increasing the number of street lamps and examining them regularly.Talking about the major concern--the security of school bus,Tian Jiachong,from Conservatory of Music,also offered his own perspective and demand,he pointed that some school buses in our campus drive with high speed.In our study,Guo Xiaochen,a student from College of Education, found problems like delay to remind students of conflicting courses,the shortage and wrong usage of classroom resources.Gu Manmin,from College of History and Culture,suggested that our university should set up classrooms for 24 hours of self-study.In logistics support,several student delegates raised problems,such as the unreasonable opening hours of conteen, the low cost performance of food ,the lack of air- conditioners in building 9 and the time of turning off lights and cutting off the water supply.Student delegates not only included new undergraduates but also new postgraduate student A Bu ,from Tanzania and doctoral student Wang Yang.They suggested a lot regarding to the opening hours of library and the small area of wireless network.
The third part of lunch session is interaction between leaders ,departments and students.Leaders from Information Office,Studies Affairs Office,Security Department and Logistics Department answered questions aiming at what delegates put forward,and promised they would solve questions positively. “Our e-book resources are quite abundant,and we hope students can make the most of our library resources on internet.”said the related functionary ,when asked “our book resources in library are a little bit poor”.Functionary from Publicity Department of Party Committee praised towards question which was raised by Hao Yi,a student from Institute of Physical Education, “broadcasts in Nanhu campus have something wrong”,and promised to accomplish construction as fast as possible.At the middle of session,leaders and student delegates have lunch together harmoniously.
When the lunch session was approaching the end,headmaster Zhao Lingyun made a conclusion,according to statements of each student delegates and related functionaries.Firstly,headmaster Zhao made a summary using five points,”excellent platform, great question,wonderful suggestion,serious attitude and splendid response.”After that,he claimed a proposal named “do eight good things and not do sixteen bad things”.At the same time,Zhao put forward his demand and hope,”extensive development in aspects of morality,intelligence,sport,kindness and labour,growing in the unity of knowledge and behavior.”He hoped that students would accomplish “self-inspiration,self-management and self-growing”and participated in school management with a host recognition.
At the end of lunch session,deputy party secretaries in CCNU,Qin Hong made a conclusion towards Zhao’s statement and announced that this lunch session finished splendidly.After meeting,leaders and 21 freshman delegates were asked to take pictures together.
