According to Department of Urban and Environmental Science’s dispatch, on the evening of Oct. 14, the newest ideological and political education lesson of DUES--New Era Party Construction and College Students’ Joining the Party Education was held in Classroom 8410. Counsellor Lu Wen analyzed the requirements of the Party Construction in the new era and the vital spirit of Xi Jinping’s speeches on National Ideological and Political Work Conference and National Education Conference, through which she summarized four requirements for college party members, and educated the students about the intention, requirements and process of joining the Party.
First of all, Counsellor Lu Wen explained the historical mission of the Chinese Communist Party from history, present and future. After stating the historical process of the Party’s construction, she elaborated that the forming processes of Mao Zedong Thought, Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era are the combination of Basic Principle of Marxism and the China’s realities, through which she explained the reasons why the Chinese Communist Party is qualified to be the shoulder of national revival mission. Furthermore, by mentioning the trade war between China and America, strait relationship, The South China Sea dispute and livelihood issues, she analyzed the connotation of the Party’s historical mission in the new era, Build a Great Project and Advance a Great Cause around the Great Dreams. In her opinions, students are supposed to uphold the Party's leadership and socialist system, and use Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to arm brains.
After that, League Branch Secretary Qiang Tingting explained The CPC Constitution revised in October, 2017. She led students to learn the general principles by using a simple question-and-answer format, including the Chinese Communist Party’s the highest ideal, the ultimate goal, major contradiction at present, etc. She led students to study part of the Party Members by explaining it, which drew a clear picture of the requirements of joining the Party, the responsibilities and the obligations of the Party members.
Next, Ms. Lu led everyone to learn the vital spirit of Xi Jinping’s speeches on National Ideological and Political Work Conference and National Education Conference, which, she thought, reflected the evaluation for the excellent teenagers. Meanwhile, combining with the requirements from The CPC Constitution, she announced four basic requirements for the Party members and for those who have a desire to join the Party, which include sticking on convictions, making life goals conform with the era, being a great example, standing in the shoes of the masses and serving them.
Last but not least, Ms. Lu made a detailed introduction on the process and criteria of the Party members’ developing work, and explained relevant questions raised by the freshmen before. Moreover, there will be rules of recommendation for activists in party application and the potential ones.
Ms. Lu emphasized that President Xi Jinping had stated that universities of our country should adhere to the socialist orientation in education, which demanded students learn and talk of politics. Ideological and political theory courses for college students are the guides for students’ growing path, which is why every students ought to listen to and understand them. As for the formats, there will be Senior leaders joining the courses and the platform is open to every student.
