On the afternoon of October 29th, the “national family” speech competition was held successfully in the 201 classroom of Chemistry Building. This activity was hosted by the Committee of Chemistry Department of Central China Normal University, sponsored by the Ministry of Student Union of Chemistry Department. The aim was to publicize the national environment of unity, harmony and peace, promote national development and prosperity, and select excellent students to participate in school and provincial competitions. The judges of this speech contest were Rou zi, a minority counselor; Li Xin, Liu Xiaomei, who were part-time counselors; and Deng Jia, Chen Yuxi and Li Jiaqi, who were in the host team of Chemistry Department. Moreover, Sun Yulin, Liu Shiyu from grade 2015, and Xu Li from grade 2016 also took part in this activity.
After the judges were all seated, the host——Sun Yulin announced that the speech contest was officially started. The contestants presented speeches in turn. After each speech, the judges scored the contestants. First came Xirennayi•Xiawukaiti from Xinjiang Uygur. She started her speech about "One family of all Chinese nations; Build the Chinese dream together with one heart", and narrated her deep understanding of the national family through her own experience. Finally, she expressed her wish to be a teacher in the future in order to make contribution to national utility.
Chen Fangfang, No. 4, quoted Chairman Xi Jinping’s words in the report of the Nineteenth National Congress as saying that all nations were generally held tightly together like pomegranate seeds to build the Chinese Community. She believed that national unity was within reach. By reviewing the history, Mao Li, the 7th contestant, cited specific examples such as the Anti-Japanese National United Front and earthquake aid to Xinjiang, and expressed her views on "One Family of all Chinese Nations; Build the Chinese Dream Together with One Heart", which won the audience’s applause to her one after another. Other contestants also gave their speeches around the theme of "One Family of all Chinese Nations; Build the Chinese Dream Together" and won applause from the audience.
Subsequently, Rou Zi came to the stage to speak. He said that safeguarding national unity is the cornerstone of development and progress. It was urgent to safeguard national unity, which was not a slogan, but a request to truly implement it .Then he commented on the performances of the contestants in the speech contest. He suggested: "Students should improve their political strategic positioning, from studying for the rise of the Chinese nation to studying for the realization of the Chinese dream."
