Nip In The Bud：Central China Normal University’s 119 Publicity Week Was Successfully Held

The Voice of CCNU News On the morning of November 10th, Central China Normal University successfully held the event of 119 fire safety week in the east district of the grove. This activity was hosted by the Security Department of CCNU, undertook by the student union of CCNU, and co-organized by the History and Culture Institute and the Mathematics and Statistics Institute of CCNU.

This activity was for all students in school, aiming at improving the fire safety awareness of teachers and students as well as further flourishing the campus culture. The Rights Protection and Service Center of the Student Union of CCNU kicked off the activity with an interesting garden party.

The garden party mainly focused on the games and propagated fire safety knowledge by demonstrating the using steps of fire extinguishers, setting up prize-winning quiz and introducing the operation methods of fire hose connection. At the beginning of the activity, members of the Student Union of the Mathematics and Statistics Institute and the History and Culture Institute began to arrange the site, prepare the relevant activity props, and introduce the activity steps and relevant game rules to students enthusiastically, encouraging everyone to participate actively. Deeply attracted, there were an increasing number of students participating in.

In the first game ’Dong Ruo Guan Huo’, participants were required to answer basic fire safety questions by having a prize-winning quiz, which not only revealed the knowledge of fire safety, but also brought enjoyment to the students. In the game ‘Huo Yan Jin Jing‘ and ‘Deng Ying Mi Zong ‘ , students had a further understanding of fire safety knowledge through the observation of comics and the guess of riddles. One of the contestants drew a topic entitled ‘Fire Fighting With Salary’(a chemical reaction), which set everyone present in deep thinking. At last, Wang yuxin, a freshman of the History and Culture Institute, correctly answered this question, enlivening the whole atmosphere.

Light rain falling, but students’ enthusiasm appeared undiminished, ‘Crossing the line’ pushed the activity to a climax. Competitors shot water bottles with water pistols to simulate using fire hoses, which exercised the students' ability to control the fire accurately and quickly. Everyone wanted to give it a shot. Needless to say, all the members of the game gathered to watch the workers to demonstrate the fire extinguishers, actively learning how to use it. Liu jiayin, minister of the Rights Protection and Service Center of the History and Culture Institute said: “This practice made students experience the tension in the fire, and helped them master the proper way to use fire extinguishers, greatly improving their safety awareness.”

After the game, the staff took a group photo, and students also signed on the poster to commemorate the event. The fire safety publicity campaign ended successfully. The Youth League Committee of CCNU will continue to uphold the tenet of sincere communication and service for all, popularize fire safety knowledge, and create a good campus environment for the healthy growth of all students.
