There is a group of students walking along every road of campus in single file day after day,with sonorous steps;there is a bunch of youths attracting passers-by,with upright figures and determined eyes,on the You Ming playground,on the Gui Zhong Road or under the national flag. As the anniversary of 100th May Fourth Movement is coming,flag guard appears in the sight of public again. Meanwhile, five students from School of Mathematics and Statistics,sticking to the belief of becoming a strong man in life, have left a mark of color in flag guard.
“I used to have a military dream and it was flag guard that aroused my inner dream.” When asked the purpose of joining the flag guard,said Liu Lian, a freshman from School of Mathematics and Statistics and also a member in 24th flag guard. For members of flag guard,they hide in the dark of CCNU cause the training is always scheduled at early morning or night;maybe they will be “nobodies”in campus,but they will never be ignored when they are in their decent green gowns. That is what they are and those are their dreams.
Luo An,a sophomore from School of Mathematics and Statistics and also the vice-captain of flag guard,said,”Joining the flag guard is the most correct decision I have made;standing in the platform and felling the soft breeze of national flag are the most honorable moment in my life.” As the old saying goes,”The very beginning mind itself is the most accomplished mind of true enlightenment.” The moment they saw the recruiting poster of flag guard,they devoted the whole heart to flag guard.
As a sophomore from School of Mathematics and Statistics and a member of flag guard, when asked about changes after he joined flag guard,Chen Xizhe said,”being a member of flag guard,I improved the skill of time management and the sense of discipline.” When they thought about the question,all of they showed great gratitude towards flag guard,but buried hardships in their hearts. In flag guard,it is the training of 15 hours in a week and their painful feet after every training that drive their future lives.
No matter in the interview of captain or members,they mentioned the word,responsibility,most frequently. Boiling blood runs in their young breasts,and they are eager to contribute their time to our country. They are the pride of School of Mathematics and Statistics.
“The spirit of May Fourth Movement is patriotism,democracy,progress and science,so being patriotic and loving our national flag are our indispensable qualities,as we are the closest group to national flag,. It is these qualities that we should pass on and we are ready to be the guider of this new time.”said Gao Xinwei,a junior student from School of Mathematics and Statistics and also the former captain of flag guard. When the anniversary of 100th May Fourth Movement is around the corner,this group has organized training to make a full preparation for the flag-raising ceremony in May 4th . Zhao Yongheng,a sophomore student from School of Mathematics and Statistics and the captain of flag guard,said,”we made a goal in short term:try our best to meet the qualified standard. And on this ground,we will strive for a good grade among the flag guards in universities of Wuhan.” They put their determinations into practice with a high standard and great attention to details;they will never forget their responsibilities with insistence and without any compliant. It is this flag guard that raises every national flag in Guizi mountain.
“We inherit hundreds of history,and today it’s our turn! We manage to create history,and in the future it’s our turn! We eulogize the beauty of youth,and in the rejuvenation of our nation it’s also our turn!” The voice of them echos in front of the library of Wen Hua,with the eternal spirit of May Fourth Movement,and they will continue to be the honor of School of Mathematics and Statistics in flag guard.
