(Reporter: Yang Yuan) The 10th Teaching Competition of Young Teacher was successfully held by CCNU Information Management College at 8:30am on September 25th in boardroom 918 of No.9 teaching building in our school. Five teachers in total participated the trial. Chairman of the school union Zhou Dongming, Teacher Zheng Lunchu from Undergraduate Student Training Office, Professor Yang Jiumin from School of Education and Information, Teaching supervisor Professor Xia Nanqiang were invited to attend the competition and eleven members of the new teaching committee of the Information Management College participated in assessment. Some young teachers listened and joined the communication of the trial. Vice president of the Information Management College Lu Xinyuan host the meeting.
Dean Li Yuhai delivered a welcome speech in the first place. He representing the Information Management College expressed his welcome to expert judges attending the trial. Dean Li presented that our college attached importance to undergraduate teaching work and quality all the way and this competition was an opportunity for our young teachers to reveal their teaching level. President Zhou Dongming made a speech emphasizing the significance of grasping the core of the course and always keep in mind that “To give a course well rather than giving a lesson well. Professor Zheng Chulun raised his opinion that teachers of our school should pay attention to the interaction with Undergraduate Student College where teachers can improve their teaching skills by using the teaching resource.
Each of the young teachers showed their distinctive teaching style in 20 minutes in the competition. Judgments would give their scores based on five parts including basic teaching skills, teaching content, teaching effect and teaching characteristics. Teacher Zhang Wei made a derivation and introduction of the course Supply Chain Management, using the case of BESTORE. Teacher Chen XiuFeng explained the theory of stack combining actual cases in daily life. He expounded the logical thought and arithmetic of Stacked data storage in the course of Data Structure. Teacher Wu Guangmei introduced the concept, procedure and practical method and principle of application of Investigation and Research Method in details. Teacher Wang Zhongyi presented that when constructing a search engine, systems would have difficulties in carrying out Chinese word segmentation combining vivid cases of actual retrieval. Meanwhile, he also introduced the traditional approach of Chinese word segmentation in search engine construction. Teacher Yang Xiaoxi started with the actual situation and introduced the current research theory of consumer intervention and decision combing daily cases of shopping decision process.
After the demonstration of participants, President Zhou Dongming, Teacher Zheng Lunchu, Professor Yang Jiumin, Teaching supervisor Professor Xia Nanqiang and so on assessed each teacher at length according to the characteristics of different teachers' teaching style in instructional design, voice, teaching manners and teaching effects. Simultaneously, they put forward many valuable suggestions. At last, Dean Li Haiyu made a summary and pointed out that this competition was beneficial to help teachers of whole college to take the teaching professionalism, technical ability and sense of responsibility more seriously. And he has been looking forward to the improvement made by our teachers on the correctness, preciseness, interest and vitality in class.
It’s of great guiding and enlightening significance to hold Teaching Competition Trial of Young Teacher. The competition played an active role in promoting the teaching level of the School of Information Management, developing the teaching ability of young teachers and enhancing the construction of teachers' morality. It was also highly regarded and highly appreciated by teachers and students of the School of Information Management.
