On the morning of Oct.01, Central China Normal University carried out an educational activity themed as “Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind” and a Party day activity on the topic of “Me and my country” in South Lake campus. The aim of these two activities is to congratulate 70th anniversary of People’s Republic of China and to celebrate the officially opening of the laboratory-teaching complex building in South Lake campus of CCNU.
The activity started officially at 7:00 in the morning. Chen Houfeng, who is the deputy party secretary and secretary of discipline inspection commission of our school, presided the flag-raising ceremony. The people who attended this activity were all of the school leaders, the members of theoretical learning center group of the school’s Party committee, all the members of the Party branches which school leaders belong to，the teacher and student representatives who would settle in this building, the representatives of the construction team and the representatives of department and students concerned.
With the assignment of “Now the flag-raising ceremony begins”, the flag-bearers of flag guard walked with robust steps and escorted the bright Five-star Red Flag. With the majestic national anthem, the bright five-star raised slowly and flew with the wind. All of the teachers and students sang the national anthem and saluted with eye solemnly. Chen Houfeng pointed that the flag-raising ceremony of this time was solemn and warm and ought to be recorded in the history of CCNU.
Standing under the national flag, Zou Zepei, who is a third-year graduate student of the College of Teachers Education, delivered a speech on behalf of the students. He emphasized that our love to our country is the deepest and most lasting emotion in the word. The youth in the new era, as pioneers of Chinese nation’s great rejuvenation, will bear their love to our county deeply in their mind, temper their aspiration for strengthening our country and contribute to our country.
Principal and deputy party secretary of our school Zhao Lingyun expressed his sincere blessing to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. He pointed that we would mark the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Chinese Communist in 2021 and that we would celebrate the 120th anniversary of CCNU in 2023. Hence, all the CCNU people should remain true to our original aspiration, keep our mission firmly in mind and build “China dream” and “CCNU dream” hand in hand.
With the melodious school song, the school flag of CCNU raised slowly in the light of dawn. The national flag and the school flag both flew with the breeze. The flag-raising ceremony entered the second stage——review the Party oath. Under the leading of principal and deputy party secretary of our school Zhao Lingyun, all the party members present took oaths solemnly towards the party flag.
The party flag leads the way, the national flag uplifts the mission and the school flag encourages us to endeavor. With the melodious song “Today is your birthday, my china”, all the people chorused, standing in front of the national flag and expressing their congratulations to our great motherland. “In the morning I flew a group of pigeons, flying over mountains to bring you an olive leaf…”Each word declared their genuine benediction. “China, I love you!” “CCNU, I love you!” Sentences, which are from the bottom of every CCNU people, could be heard in every corner of the South Lake campus.
Whereafter, under the guidance of vice-principle Cai Hongsheng, the nameplate of the new building was unveiled by principal and deputy party secretary of our school Zhao Lingyun, vice-principle Peng Nansheng, vice-principle Xia Lixin, the deputy party secretary and secretary of discipline inspection commission of our school Chen Houfeng and the representatives of the teachers, students and the construction team. When the curtain fell, a storm of applause arose.
With the development of phase IV——a volunteer activity for party members which is referred to as “I add to South Lake campus”, representatives from different departments went to the left side of the south lake multiple-use building with the volunteers to plant trees, contributing to the prosperity of the South Lake campus.
After the flag-raising ceremony, Zheng Junjie, who is the member of the 24th flag guard, said， “I was so excited. We have practiced again and again to make adequate preparations. Moreover, we also benefited from the good state today.” 70 parade steps celebrated the 70th anniversary of our country. There were 116 parade steps and quick steps in total to celebrate the 116th anniversary of our school. The flag guard expressed their blessing to our country and our school in a unique way.
Lasting for one hour, this activity ended with the sound people’s blessing words. The blessing words which could be heard fade away with the crowd dispersing. However, the blessing words, which couldn’t be heard, were carved in the heart of every Chinese people and every CCNU people.
