Give joy with company, warm children’s innocence with youth. From October 16 to 17, the Youth Volunteer Association of the College of Marxism in CCNU, together with Wuhan Xile children rehabilitation center, successfully carried out the fifth Xile voluntary activity to take care of autistic children.
During the activity, volunteers went to the Xile children rehabilitation center to receive consolation items in advance, and then visited the autistic children's home to play games and do handicrafts with them and guide them to finish their homework. After getting familiar with the volunteers, children shared their toys and snacks with them, which helped children to get out of autism and learn to communicate with the outside world to a certain degree.
During the activity, volunteers strictly obeyed event notes and the volunteer code of conduct, strived to do their best to help every autistic child with love and enthusiasm. They understood the difficulties and needs of autistic children's families and showed the volunteer spirit of equality, fraternity, mutual assistance and progress.
By attending this activity, volunteers can know more about difficulties of autistic children's families through personal experience and close communication, while cultivating the volunteers' sense of dedication and exercising their service skills. On the other hand, the activity will also contribute to enhancing the social attention to autistic children and promoting the development of rehabilitation program for autistic children.
Xie Jiao, president of the Youth Volunteer Association of the College of Marxism, believes that every autistic child is a "child of stars". They are eager for love, yet we need to spend more time to open their closed hearts. As the younger generation, we have grown up under the care of all sides and are able to finally bring warmth to others. Let's pass on the love and warmth and prop up a blue sky for autistic children.
