School of Information and Journalism on-line (trainee reporters Zheng Zhejia & Fu Rong) On the morning of 16 October, the opening ceremony of league cadres training class, which was held by School of Chinese Language and Literature and School of Information and Journalism in room 2201 of the former, went with a swing. The chairman of school league committee office, Chen Lingjixiao, the deputy secretary of CPC Xu Fugang, the secretary of Youth League Committee Li Zheli, the deputy secretary of Youth League Committee Chen Ruoqian and Bao Siqi and the instructor Shu Jiaxin from School of Chinese Language and Literature as well as the deputy secretary of CPC Cheng Xiuli, the secretary of Youth League Committee Huang Yining, the deputy secretary of Youth League Committee Du Yuwei and the instructor Pan Qindong from School of Information and Journalism, attended the ceremony.
Part of delegates of the Chinese Communist Youth League committee and the Student Union as well as all the freshmen who took part in the two organizations participated in the activity. The ceremony was hosted by Dong Qian and Ren yiwei, students of School of Information and Journalism who are sophomores now. At the beginning of the ceremony, the attendees rose and sang the national anthem.
Firstly, Chen Xiuli made a speech, which introduced the indivisible historical origins between the School of Chinese Language and Literature and the School of Information and Journalism to the students. Also, she emphasized to the brand-new committee members of the Youth League that they should inherit the admirable traditions of two colleges, firm their ideal and faith while enhancing their political awareness and capacity of performing their duties. More than that, they had to not only bear the aim to serve people and schoolmates in mind but also stay true to their origin and missions.
Chen Lingjixiao shared his experience cumulated from league and student work with the students as a upperclassman. For instance, he summed up lessons and distilled four key points: first, attach importance to our major works, do not put the cart before the horse; second, lay stress on the main cause in stead of covering all aspects; third, look for excuses less, don't give up ourselves; fourth, keep learning in order to prevent ourselves from just having a limited outlook. Meanwhile, he pointed out the difference between “the backbone of Youth League”and “the cadre of student”. In his point of view, the “backbones” should put emphasis on responsibility and practice more, in the meantime, they had to be determined and equitable.
The deputy secretary of School Communist Youth League of our institute Lu Yuyan made explanation of the assessment system of this league cadres training class. Moreover, she hoped that all the new members of the Youth League could obey the regulations, make self-improvement and make a difference.
Xu Fugang gave a lesson with the theme of “origin and missions of the Youth League cadres”. He came up with nine keywords: harmony, understanding, promotion, unity, coverage, quality and quantity guaranteed, development and honour. He stressed that the backbones of students were not only a kind of career but also a kind of identity. Furthermore, they should bring happiness to the schoolmates and strive for the development of the enterprise of the college.
After the event finished, a freshman of School of Information and Journalism, Ouyang Yuyi said when he was interviewed: “This activity made me know the duty of my day as a youth of new age. I'll try my best to deal with students' affair well, work diligently with my pursuits while seizing the day and live it to the fullest.”
