The Voice of CCNU On September 17, 2021, the opening lecture for “targeted teacher training plan” was held in the lecture hall of science auditorium. “Targeted teacher training plan” is “the oriented cultivation plan of teachers for the underdeveloped areas in China’s central and western regions”. This recent plan is focusing on advancing educational development as a new measure. This lecture was attended by Peng Shuangjie, vice principal of CCNU, Zhang Mingshen, the Party secretary of the department of physics and science technology in CCNU, as well as five counsellors from school of literature. Yin Qibing, a physics teacher from NO.4 Middle School in Xinzhou District, made the report in the lecture as a guest. All undergraduates involved in “targeted teacher training plan” were present at the lecture and Li Diao, Vice Minister of Student Affairs of the Party Committee of CCNU, was the host.
“Meet a best self in the best age” was the theme of Yin Qibing’s lecture, in which he shared fragments of his life and insights into his induction of a teacher. He began to look back on his college days with a certain amount of nostalgia. He was matriculated by CCNU after graduating from Xin Zhou District NO.4 Middle School—the most remote school in Wu Han, which was also called as “Rice paddies school” resulted from the outrange of delivery and a spread of rice paddies. Qi Yinbing chose to come back to his alma mater, with an air of rice paddies, after gaining his master degree in the physics and science technology department of CCNU. The inheritance and adherence of his spirits was in sync with the needs of “targeted teacher training plan” and was also the reason why he came to CCNU to share his feelings with undergraduates. At the beginning of his report, under the background of rural revitalization and poverty alleviation, Yin Qibing analyzed the policy of “targeted teacher training plan” in meticulous details and also encouraged freshmen to seize opportunities and forge ahead with even greater resolve. Then, he told us the story about how he got out of and came back to rural areas as a tuition-free student. Therefore, he believed that taking on education career as a teacher was his feedback and inheritance. Additionally, from the perspective of “spirit of the ox”— “serving-the-people ox”, “pioneering ox” and “persisting ox”, Yin Qibing illustrated the responsibility and duty on teachers’ shoulder, placed emphasis on the significance of gratitude and finally gave suggestion to how to be a qualified guide as a tuition-free undergraduate.
Stories of Yin Qibing’s dedication to education and taking root in rural areas began circulating several years ago. As such, he became an internet celebrity “authorized by Zhao Lihong”, the party secretary of committee in Xinzhou district. Wuhan Evening News reported him as “Yu Gong”, a Chinese traditional figure who had extraordinarily unrelenting perseverance. The best always tough their ways through a lonely period of time for struggling. Only after you survive hardship and obstacles, you flows to meet the best self.
Peng Shuangjie came up to stage after finishing the lecture. He pointed out that we took up the targeted teacher training plan for the first year, aiming to provide a high-quality teachers and educational instructors for the underdeveloped areas in China’s central and western regions. Based on this, Peng Shuangjie extended three wishes to freshmen: enhance to adjust your state to fit in and progress, reinforce quality improvement to obtain an all-round development, and finally strength responsibility for our missions to be a brilliant teacher.
At the wrap up of the journey, facing with all the present normal freshmen, Peng Shuangjie expressed warm expectations that in the future, all of them could take deep root in the education field and break new ground for the Party’s and motherland’s education career. In the tumultuous applause, the lecture drew to a close.
