On the afternoon of November 15th, the Students’ Safety Work Conference of our school in 2021 was held on the first floor of the Science hall. Chen Diming, deputy secretary of the University Party Committee, Yang Jun, deputy minister of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, Wang Dongshuang, director of the security Department and other officials attended the meeting. Deputy secretary in charge of graduate work, deputy secretary in charge of undergraduate work, all full-time and part-time counselors of undergraduate students attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Li Diao, deputy director of student affairs from Department of party Committee.
First of all, Wu Caizhi, executive deputy director of college students' mental health education center, made a special report on the situation and requirements of college students' psychological safety education. Combined with relevant data, Wu Caizhi analyzed the current psychological situation of college students and the common types of psychological crisis, and further analyzed the obvious manifestations of relevant psychological crisis. Then combining with his work experience for many years, he gave some suggestions to many political work cadres on dealing with the psychological crisis of college students. He pointed out that we ought to show high concern and care for 12 types of group people including people who recently were in bereavement, the people who experienced the conflicting and worsening interpersonal relationship and follow some principles such as building a relationship, caring and strengthening study, as well as doing well in the management work of personal cases concerning psychological crisis.
Then, Wu Jiancheng, deputy director of the Party Committee student work Department, arranged college students' mental health education. She pointed out that students’ psychological safety education work is of vital importance. So the majority of political cadres in daily life should care for students who were divide into different groups and stages, then finally help them in different methods; Through comprehensive observation, key observation material collection and other methods, the cadres ought to timely identify difficult students and screen students with psychological crisis; cadres also need to timely comfort students who suffer psychological crisis and give them a key assistance; cadres also need to strengthen their own learning to improve the understanding of common psychological diseases, enriching the means of crisis intervention; Relying on the inter-college and inter-college mentoring mechanism, they ought to improve the training strategy of crisis intervention; At the same time, the cadres should mobilize all teachers to participate in creating a full educational atmosphere; cadres need to do well in student privacy protection measures to ensure the safety of student privacy; and then they should further strengthen the construction of secondary workstations, and actively link with the school's mental health education center.
Subsequently, wang Dongshuang, director of the security department, arranged the work of preventing fraud against college students. Wang Dongshuang reported the responsibility of security department concerning many situations of students’ safety, and he also combined with the cases to analyze the risk of telecom fraud the current college students may face. He pointed out that during January to November this year, the security department and other departments linked to make many great efforts together to promote the anti-telecom fraud, by issuing 180,000 copies of anti-telecom fraud leaflets, carrying out 35 offline anti-telecom fraud thematic safety propaganda, organizing online safety knowledge test, and shooting 5 anti-fraud propaganda short videos.
The fourth session, Yang Jun, vice minister of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, arranged epidemic prevention and control, fire prevention, theft prevention and other student safety and stability work. He pointed out that it is necessary to comprehensively grasp the situation of students' off-campus practice, check whether students are in medium-high risk areas, whether they have the knowledge and ability to avoid risks, and ensure the personal safety of students at different stages. Also the cadres should do a good job in student dormitories’ safety education of electricity and fire. The majority of political cadres should connect well with the security department staffs, dormitory administrators, and then form a joint force in students’ safety work.
Finally, Chen Diming, deputy secretary of the University Party Committee, made a speech. He stressed that the majority of political cadres should earnestly do a good job in the mental health education of college students and anti-fraud education work, concentrating on ensuring students' physical and mental health and property safety. He pointed out that in the next step the school would increase investment in mental health education of college students in many aspects including labor, money and space, and would further optimize the students' mental health education. In addition, combined with the current situation of counselors' work and team construction, Chen Deming said that improving the training mechanism and reward mechanism for counselors, overcoming the job burnout of counselors, and publicizing the work experience of excellent counselors would be the key work point of next step. Finally, he invited the majority of political cadres made some feedback concerning problems existing in the students’ work and suggestions as well as giving advice for students’ development in the future from four perspectives including the concept of students’ work, the construction of counselors’ team, the students’ education in different categories and the Internet part of CCNU.
