In order to implement the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and learn more about the century-long struggle of the Party, on the morning of November 19, our undergraduate students of Class 2021 went to the Wuhan Revolutionary Museum to carry out study activities relying on the class "Outline of Modern Chinese History."
The students first visited the Memorial Hall, the site of the Fifth National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The Fifth National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held at a crucial moment. Inside the memorial hall, the brief introduction and photographs of the delegates told the history of the Communist Party's arduous struggle and made people stare for a long time. Through the relevant historical materials in the hall, students were able to appreciate more deeply the courage and determination required for the holding of the Fifth National Congress of the Communist Party of China and to feel the firm revolutionary beliefs of the Communists.
The students then visited the former residence of Comrade Mao Zedong. Mao Zedong wrote his famous "Report on the Investigation of the Peasant Movement in Hunan", which was a powerful response to the Party's doubts about relying on the peasant movement to carry out the revolution, and continued to explore, eventually finding a revolutionary path that suited China's national conditions and winning the victory in the New Democratic Revolution. During Shi Haoran's visit,he said,"I deeply appreciate the epoch-making significance of the work ‘Report on the Investigation of the Peasant Movement in Hunan’", which greatly liberated the minds of the communists and laid the foundation for the later establishment of the revolutionary base in Jinggang Mountain."
Finally, the students visited the former site of the Central Peasant Movement Workshop. Comrade Mao Zedong taught here and trained a large number of peasant movement cadres, most of whom later led peasant movements, participated in armed uprisings led by the Party, and established a positive image of the Party among the masses, making outstanding contributions to the establishment of New China. Guo Douliang, a member of the workshop, gave a lively theoretical speech to the students at the former site of the Central Peasant Movement Workshop, introducing to them the transformation of the Party's struggle ideas during the New Democratic Revolution and analysing the reasons why the Party was able to win the revolution.
After the visit, all students took a group photo, and the study activity was successfully completed.
The activity deepened the students' understanding of the history of the century-long struggle of the Communist Party of China. Talking about their feelings, Cheng Duoduo from Class 2103 said, "After visiting the Wuhan Revolutionary Museum, one word came to my mind: breakthrough. The Fifth National Congress of the Communist Party of China broke through the oppressive White Terror and strengthened the establishment of the Party; Comrade Mao Zedong broke through his conventional thought and valued the significant role of the peasants in the revolution. As the youth of the new era, we should also inherit the spirit of our predecessors, make a breakthrough and unleash our youthful energy in the torrent of the times to realise the Chinese dream. "
